I pray that the lakers don't sign Webber. He's horrible now. I remember when he had superstar status. Webber wouldn't help the Lakers get better. Plus theres no where for him to start with Lamar coming back in a couple games and are young superstar Andrew Bynum. Luke Walton is really getting good and he is a big part of the Lakers offense.Kwame Brown in my opinion is betterthan Webber. And to add to that Webber is in his 30 isn't he. Bynum,Brown,Smush,Luke,Farmar,Bryant,Cook,Vujacic, and,Turiaf. There's no where for Webber to fit in on this team. Not a single person is older than 29.
Good points, I'll try and counter them one at a time.
He isnt horrible, he is definitely good enough to help and for the price we could get him you have to at least take a look. He could definitely start at PF for us moving Lamar to his natural Point Forward position, even if he came off the bench that give our bench a huge rebounding and playmaking boost. It wont effect Bynums minutes at all as he plays center what it will do is give him more space to operate down on the block because teams have to respect Webbers mid range jumper and cant sag down on Bynum. He will also be great at hitting Bynum from the high post when teams go zone on us. Walton is having a great year but imagine if he was up against 2nd string line ups coming off the bench and leading the 2nd unit. Kwame is far better than Webber defensively but Webber is much more refined offensively and has always had great hands (something that Kwame still struggles with). Kwame is also a center so chances are they would be on the court together anyway. Finally i agree we are a young team and that was one of our downfalls in the playoffs last year, every young team needs some smart veterans come playoff time and Webber fits the bill. McKie and Williams were signed to be veteran influences but they can hardly help from the bench. Chances are we dont end up getting C-Webb and he ends up going home to Detroit, but i would love to have him on our team at the price he is up for.
Good to hear from another Laker fan, i swear we are taking this place over at the moment. Quite a turnaround from the old days of just me and Link.
