Man, Vince could have been a much more player than what he is today. Now he just settles for jumpers and his dribbling skills have gone way down. He can't cross nobody no more 😠 Though his stats still indicate that he is productive, the downward trend tells me that he only has a window of about a few years to prove he belongs in the Hall of Fame.
yeh i agree with you about vince. he had a lot of promise about him, good size, very athletic, he just doesnt use those things anymore. yao is another who settles for too many shots and doesnt take it in and use a bit of strength.
see the kirilenko marion trade rumours? kirilenko didnt have too great a year last year, but i think a change of scenery would suit him well.
Yea, I see what you're saying about Vince. He puts up great numbers, but to me, he doesn't make his teammates better, I mean great players are able to elevate other players game, and VC doesn't do that. It's like he's either too selfish or not selfish enough, like if he's struggling with his scoring he'll try and shoot his way out of it, or if he's dominating offesively he starts becoming too passive.
and to think that with the stature that jason kidd has in this game he allows vince to do so. lack of leadership on the nets team perhaps?
speaking of the nets, they've offered a contract to allan houston. you think if someone made a comeback they'd want to go somewhere with more chance of winning a championship?
Greg Oden's season is done. He had microfracture surgery done on his right knee. He also had arthroscopy surgery done also.

The days of the big money busts in Beantown are over. Kevin Garnett, the $200 million man, isn't taking it easy in his advancing age. Earlier this month Marc J. Spears chronicled Garnett's summer training regimen. Tthis thing has Rocky IV training montage potential. He has absolutely lost his mind. I love it. Here's an excerpt:
"…The regimen includes about 90 minutes of weight training and 90 minutes of basketball drills and five-on-five scrimmages. While Celtics training camp doesn't begin until Sept. 30 in Rome, Garnett already seems to be in prime shape. In one drill yesterday, Garnett showed how strong he is. Wearing a belt with a cable connected to it, Garnett was immovable as one man tried to yank him from the post with the cable and Abunassar tried unsuccessfully to steal the ball several times. The 6-foot-11-inch, 253-pounder also sprinted while pulling a man with a resistance cable. After the drill, a sweat-drenched Garnett made the majority of his free throws while pumping himself up. "C'mon Kevin. C'mon Kevin. C'mon Kevin," he said."
How many other athletes worth a quarter of a billion dollars are shooting baby hooks while attached to cables on a steamy court during the offseason before their 13th year in the league? None. No wonder Reggie Miller didn't want to come out of retirement after working out with this lunatic. I feel bad for the random dude that got dragged up and down the court attached to KG by a cable. Spears didn't name him in the article. Are we sure he is still alive?
I can't get over how insanely competitive this man is. Key word insane. I mean, he talks to himself. Even when he talks to reporters he sounds crazy. When asked about his early workouts Garnett responded by saying, "I like my footprints to be the first in the sand." Thank you, Conan the Destroyer . Finally, Boston Celtics fans have an athlete who is equally obsessed with winning, maybe even more so.
Damn out for his entire rookie season, just don't know what to say, I was looking forward to seeing this man play in the NBA, and now I have to wait a whole year, sorry Portland fans, it sucks some major balls. A rising star with a knee surgery like this...lets just hope he can recover like Amare did.
I don't even want to type the "B" word mentioned above. These last 2 days have been probably my most depressing ever as a Blazer fan. The first time I even thought, "Maybe we should have taken Durant."
On the optimistic side, Amare added a better jump shot, maybe Oden will be able to add this year. Even more so, maybe the Blazers will pull another great lottery and Oden comes back healthy. Oden, Roy, Aldridge....... Mayo? I can only hope Oden will come back the same.
One thing that really sucks is that if Oden doesn't meet his full potential, I will never know if it is this situation that caused this (in other words, this could haunt me even 10-15 years from now)

That wouldn't even be fair.
if the blazers do get a really high lottery pick next year, it could be better for the franchise. remember when the spurs had the bad injury-ridden year, worst record in the nba, then got tim duncun to go along with david robinson. this COULD. be a blessing in disguise, but only if oden comes back 100%.
