Reggie Miller is thinking of playing for Boston. Thing is, Like the Patriots, who on paper should win 12+ games and then the superbowl, the Celtics on paper look like a championship team, but again, as with The Patriots, The Celtics must play all their games in order to be successful. Now for Allan Houston, he may come out of retirement and help LeBron. That move will not help James get back to the NBA Finales and win it.

Pretty quiet in the NBA right now, the offseason is the pits for a hoops fan like myself.
KG going to the Celtics was no surprise, Bostons package trumped everyone elses and as much as i would have liked to see KG in the purple and gold i dont think McHale would willingly help the Lakers like that (even if we did have a better deal). I like the KG, Pierce and Allen tandem but its not a given that they will come out of the East, they will have to play some solid D to go deep into the playoffs.
The Lakers seem content to play chicken with the Pacers over JO, if the Pacers will back down and move JO without taking Lamar then we'd be stupid not to but i dont see that happening. I have to say im intrigued to see what the Lakers can do with a PG that isnt delusional (have fun in Miami Smush) and a healthy front line. I think having Fish run the point will really help and having Mihm back gives us more stability at the center spot. I'd still like to see if we can get something for Kwame's expiring contract (like a defensive minded SF) but my gut tells me that this is the Laker squad going into the season unless a dream trade falls from the heavens. I dont know if this Laker team is enough to keep Kobe happy but at least he is keeping his grievances out of the media and behind closed doors.
Still some decent FA's out there and team USA kicks off soon so that should at least provide something hoops related to watch. How are you guys getting your hoops fix this offseason?

Team USA took care of bizz. Really looking forward to them dominating the 08 Olympics. I think this team could be the best since the 92 dream team. They really don't have any weaknesses.
Also, mad props to Jason Kidd. Dude took something like 12 shots ALL TOURNAMENT, yet was arguably the most dominate player on the court. I just wish for the sake of the NBA, the Nets would trade him to the Cavs. What would be better than a Kidd/Lebron combo?
