Oh baby! I didn't even get to see the Blazer game but I was so excited just to see the box score as it developed. I know pre-season doesn't mean crap, but I was very pleased to see Webster making a great percentage of shots for 28 points. Webster has been extremely disappointing to me in his first couple of seasons. He was hyped as an amazing shooter and he came in looking just awful in that department. Considering that we traded away a pick that could have got us Chris Paul or D-Williams, I have high standards for Webster. I may have been overly critical since he was straight from high school, but our last straight from high school guy didn't necessarily pan out so well (Telfair). Anyway, he apparently has his confidence for now, and he is a 3rd year player which is when many of those straight to pro guys start to find their niche. If he pans out to be worthy of such a high pick (I am still skeptical that he will show the worth of a top 6 pick) that will be a pleasant surprise.
think about tracey macgrady. first year he wasnt too great, but showed some potential. raptors let him go and he went to orlando. he became a star. i dont think hes as good as most people say, but hes not exactly bad!
i dont see why the blazers wont do too bad, i think they've got a decent core of players, and it'll help them when they get chances because of odens absence because they'll learn how to play and finish games. thats something that hurt toronto a few years ago, we didnt know how to finish a game and lost a lot of close games. last year, we knew how to finish them out and the win percentage boomed up.
