Yeah baby, what a Xmas present. We are really playing well against the Suns this season, using our size advantage in the post and dominating them on the boards. Our worst weakness in the playoffs last season was transition defense, its nice to see we have addressed that this season especially against the Suns.
Bynum is rewarding the Lakers faith in him over the summer, i've always been a Bynum fan and hoped he would become a dominant center but its always a crap shot when dealing with young raw players with nothing but potential. Bynum has improved every season and with Kareem mentoring him you are just starting to see the kind of franchise center that he can be. The kid is just 20yrs old, he still might grow some more and he has the kind of frame that can easily support 300lbs. Couple that with his skills and tools and its a very exciting time to be a Laker fan. Im looking forward to seeing Bynum and Oden bring back the traditional center to the NBA.
Im trying to stay grounded and not get too carried away with the Lakers success at the moment, we were rolling last season to before injuries derailed the season. But i do like the small changes we made and the balance is much better on our roster this year. Fisher is so steady at the PG and Farmar and Critt are each capable of making an impact as backups. Ariza is my type of player, plays hard defense, disrupts passing lanes, moves well without the ball and finishes strong (just ask Grant Hill - sweet jesus was that a poster or what?) As much as i like Lamar i would package him with Kwame to see if we can get a legit PF like Boozer, Gasol or JO, Lamar struggled at SF (which surprised me, i thought he'd be great) and he isnt really a PF either (even though he boards like one). I just dont really see where he fits on this team now we have some versatility at SF with Ariza, Luke and Vlad. I'd prefer to have a bruiser (i know thats not Gasol, but i still like his game) at the PF who can block some shots and anchor the defense with Bynum. I think thats the move we need to make to take the next step and advance deep into the playoffs.
Good to see you have boarded the A-Train Evo, peace bro enjoy your Xmas.
