I forgot about Mutombo. He probably will.

I don't think Payton is even playing anymore. He'll make it, though.

I'm kinda on the fence for Kidd.

I can't see Vince Carter making it.

Nash and Manu can, but they need a few more years of great seasons to get there.

Nash and Manu can, but they need a few more years of great seasons to get there.

My reasons for Kidd: Led a team to 2 Finals appearances, his amount of triple doubles (is it 2nd or 3rd in history? I can't remember), ROY (not a big deal there), 5 1st team NBA, 1 2nd team NBA, 4 1st team defense, 5 2nd team defense.

For Carter: I personally wouldn't want to see him in the HOF, but I think being arguable the best dunker ever (in the conversation with MJ and Wilkens), going to 8 all star games (including a few top vote getters I believe), along with career avgs of: 23.8, 5.5, and 4.2. His career to me is comparable to Dominique's and he got in as well.

Nash: I think Nash being one of the few to go back to back MVPs puts him in. Pretty much everybody with one MVP gets in.

Manu: His entire career will be looked at, not just his NBA career. His NBA career doesn't put him in alone, but when combined with what he did internationally, he is in:
3 NBA titles
Olympic gold: 2004 (with the MVP)
Americas Championship: 2001
Euroleague: 2001
Italian Cup: 2001, 2002
Italian League Championship: 2001

Manu is the one I am most on the edge about, but I still think he'll make it with his track record of winning at every level.

Kidd is a first ballot....

Unanimous

is karl malone in the hof? he and stockton will be in there if not already. shaw will, kidd will, vince i'm not sure, dominique at least had some good playoff series... vince.... went to get his graduation.

Malone and Stockton haven't been retired long enough, but you are right. They will be in.

I meant, not smart enough.

Again, when has smarts really played a part for a highly touted prospect not getting into the basketball program? Or football for that matter.

If Carter gets in the HoF, then the Basketball Hall of Fame has lost all respectability.

Kevin Garnett

And in football? Many times a recruit doesn't have the GPA to stay or get into a college.

Just speechless. Congrats Myth. Good game, friend

Lakers for the last time, do not leave shooters open. Why get Ira Newble, if ur not gonna play him. Fisher, Farmar and Sasha were all getting beat by Jax. Switch Kobe on him or use Ira. He's proved in the past, he can slow Kobe down. I don't by that BS, he doesn't know the triangle and his teammates need to bond with him. Phil, put the LSD down...pal

Thursday, the Lippers and Friday...big Showdown with Chris Paul. Laker fans, lets hope they don't let Paul break em down and feed it to Peja. Remember 10 3's, the last game at Staples

**** the Blazers.

I hate Steve Blake!

Did Kevin Garnett even try to get into college, or just declared for the NBA draft?

Anyways, it doesnt matter. A few players here and there dont get into college due to grades, but the majority of athletes that get in NBA, or NFL probably wouldnt of gotten into schools if they were based on grades and not their jump shot.

Hell, they dont even need to finish college to be in the NBA.

Yeah he wanted to go to college, but didn't qualify because he continuously failed the college entrance exam.

And it does matter even if it's just one player.

Thanks. I think our insane crowd really helps in these games versus the Lakers. Sadly, I've never been to a game in person against the Lakers. I've only been buying my own tickets for the last 3 years, and every time the Lakers come to town, I am busy with a night class or something (with one exception when the game was simply sold out before I could buy a ticket). Come to think of it, the Suns and maybe the Bobcats are the only other teams I have never seen. I say maybe the Bobcats because I simply can't remember. It is possible that I saw them and it wasn't memorable.

I can't wait for Bynum vs Oden next year. Should be fun.

It will be

Hopefully, Oden can fit in with Roy. I think u will agree, no egos...it should be a pairing for years

So hows the NFL work then?

Where's all that great talent that couldnt get into college?

You either never hear of them because of the fact that they couldn't get into college, or they end up going to some college no one has ever heard of in one of the lesser divisions, and not getting drafted.

Man the curse of the Rose Garden strikes again, we just play our worst games there. The Lakers and Blazers are gonna have some great battles for years to come, just think of the matchups: Kobe vs Roy, Odom vs Outlaw, Gasol vs Aldridge and the one im really looking forward to Bynum vs Oden.
The Lakers are going nowhere in the playoffs if they cant improve their perimeter defense, i keep hearing them say that when Bynum gets back it will improve but if there isnt consistent effort on the perimeter then Bynum is just gonna foul out. He is a great shot blocker but as a perimeter defender you still have to funnel your man to the shot blocker, not just play "matador" and watch him blow past. Hopefully Ariza can help when he gets back and guy222 i couldnt agree more, play Newble - the guy gets after it defensively and thats what we need to be concentrating on (we always score enough points to win).
Glad we dont have to go back to Portland this season, good riddance to you Myth. 😛

Jason Kidd is definately a future Hall of Famer. If Garnett wins a ring this year he will be too. Kevin Garnett is arguably the most talented person to ever play in the NBA.

Not sure how Lakers lost to Portland last night. Congrats Myth. 😠 I am actually curious myself to see what Portland can do next season with Oden and Roy.

Oh, and about the game on Friday: Hornets vs Lakers at STAPLES. This game will decide who will win the MVP award this season.

I agree. That game SHOULD decide who the MVP is, because at this point its neck and neck. But people hate Kobe so much, you get the feeling that he isn't going to win it. He deserves it after getting rob these past two seasons, and what he has done for this team this season has been remarkable, but the hatred for Kobe always rears its ugly head in the MVP voting.

He averaged 35.4 5.3 4.5 and 1.8, scored 81 in a single game, willed the Lakers to the playoffs and they not only gave the award to Nash but Kobe finished 5th in the voting....5th!!!!!!!!

I don't even think it's about the personnel we have out there. I think it's about the defensive scheme we have. You know? The one where we leave shooters open on the perimeter to double Brendon Haywood? or the one where Radman ends up guarding Chris Paul?

What we really need to fix is the constant doubling of anyone who gets the ball and poor communication on screens. Too often do you see guys wide open on the perimeter or a PF guarding a PG.
