I will slightly disagree. It's true that a team with a superstar and not supporting class won't go anywhere but when it comes to the playoffs, it's usually who has better superstar who is playing up to his ability. Doesn't really matter if the other team has a better supporting class.
Would a team who has a better supporting class beat Jordon in the playoffs when he is on fire. No, they won't. There is a reason most of the championship basketball teams have that one superstar that will make the difference. If Orlando has a better team, thats great, but Cleveland has Lebron James and when he is on fire, I don't think any team could beat them.
I hear what you're saying and I think we both have a point.
Jordan had Pippen and Rodman too.
Of course you want to give the ball to a guy like Lebron or Kobe in the fourth, but the game has to be close enough for that one guy to make a difference. The better team usually wins even if the best player on the court belongs to the other team (I think the Hawks/Heat series was a good example of just that).
In this particular case, I think the Magic have enough skill/talent, esp. with Dwight, to supercede the phenom that is Lebron.
Now, how bout them Magic!?!
Ah man, I thought the way the refs were calling the shots and how Lebron was playing, that there was no way the Magic were gonna pull out a win. Glad to be wrong.
Lewis was so clutch, Pietrus came through again and Dwight was Black Magic.
I also liked the way in particular on how Van Gundy coached this game. He was collected and confident. Called timeouts when needed and ran the right plays. You can tell it rubbed off on the players going into the second half.
A big win and I'm all smiles. 💃
