I'm glad the Magic won. I am not a Lebron fan by any means. I think he's a great player, but he's been hyped as one of the greatest players of all time since before he stepped onto an NBA court, and I absolutely hate it when a player is overhyped like that. What's worse is he's acting like he's starting to believe it. He just has such a smug look on his face every time he makes a big shot. Here's hoping for a Nuggets-Magic finals.
Well that is a fairly typical forum response to Lebron I think. He is sort of like Wolverine people automatically dislike him cause he is popular.
I used to be in that camp, but I watched his game and I really like it. He is still rough around the edges but the guy is flat out amazing and I would take him first over anyone in the league if I was starting a franchise or was GM for a year. Do I still realize that Kobe is an assassin in the clutch? Sure. Do I acknowledge that D-Wade is more complete defensively? Absolutely. But wade is not the kind of leader Lebron is. The team that D-Wade had this year is only marginally worse than the team that Lebron led to the finals. And Kobe is a great scorer but he aint a leader you can see it in the faces and body languages of the people who play with him.
Sure his celebrations and stuff can be obnoxious, but really it doesn't seem any worse than the preening that regularly goes on in the NBA. And I would take a smug grin over the naked contempt I see in Kobe's face. I mean Lebron actually got me intersted in the NBA again.
