Next year will probably be the Celtics if healthy. I'm rooting for Houston, though. If they can get some chemistry going, they should be the team to beat. Took the Lakers to the brink, even though their stars were on the bench.
Congrats to the Lakers. I wanted this team to get at least one ring, because most of them are hard workers. That's it, though. Next year, Houston all the way. Even though Artest (one of my favs) will probably shut out.
Kobe as no.8 probably accomplished enough to not only eventually get selected into the Hall Of Fame, but have 8 retired by the Lakers.
The crazy thing is, Kobe with just his accomplishments as no.24, is well on his way to achieving both honors as well. I think we'll going to see the first player ever in the NBA to have two numbers retired in his honor BY THE SAME TEAM!!
I wonder and hope Jerry Buss spares no expense and pulls out his check book to keep Ariza and Odom. With these two back, and Bynum continues to improve AND stay injury free, these Lakers will continue to be a beast next year.
As Magic Johnson said answering a question on ESPN's website about where does this Lakers team rank amongst the now four teams, they're not as dominant as Showtime or Kobe/Shaq, but they're certainly more versatile.

KG and crew will be a year older. Between Magic, Celtics and Cavs especially if a motivated Shaq signs to come out the East
Houston has a good team
Lakers are the team to beat for many years. Injury free, maybe a 2-3 peat

Lamar will take less and they can sign Ariza also
Sign Shannon Brown too
Andrew will continue to improve. He has talent
fcukin' lucky a$$ mofo's.
The Lakers are taking Boston's ring home to LA and @'ll forever seriously believe that, man.
They need too thank Garnett for had he'd not been inured we'd of beaten them in 6 just like we did last year.
It's ok though. Garnett guaranteed a ring next year.
And Red A. has won 8 NBA titles in a row. Try doing that Phil..
Go Celtics. L.A. can go suck it hard. They don't deserve the trophy, I'm sorry.

By that rationale, Boston took L.A.'s rings home LAST year. Had Bynum and Ariza been there we would have beaten them like the trash they are. Look, injuries happen. No need to be cry-babies. Had THIS happened..... had HE not been injured.... whatever. Bottom line is, you need depth on the bench. That's why it's a team sport. Good luck next year, Celtics. Get a better bench, and we'll talk then.

like the trash we are yet we won more rings than anyone in the nba, in history. We have th best 3pt. shooter in the league, we have a great squad, like it or not.
Lakers are still under the celtics in most ways. in the ways tht count. this was lucky bratty snobby Kobe's last lucky ring.
Celtics - 2oo9 - 2o1o NBA champions. Ipromise you.

(yawn) Who cares? We don't even know who's playing where next year.
Anyway, back to reality. This was a pretty good series. Unfortunately Stan Van Gundy didn't really have the same experience as Phil Jackson in the Finals. Like I said before, talent-wise, the Magic were right there with the Lakers. It was the coaching that did them in.
