Man what a game, i cant believe we got that win. There is no way anyone can say with a straight face that the game was called even. I have no problem with Howard being able to knock people around and play physical, but why the hell cant our big men (and even little men if you count that terrible call on Fish) do the same? Our entire front line was in foul trouble by the end of the 1st quarter and it wasn't because we weren't being aggressive it was because when we tried to fight fire with fire it was a cheap whistle. I said before the series began i just wanted to see the refs let them play, this is the ultimate for these players and they should all be allowed to play hard. 17 ft's to none in the 4th, think about that. Anyone who watched that game cannot say that we didn't attack the hoop, especially in the 4th.
Anyway enough about the refs, we won but i just can't believe that we did when i think back to some of those calls. Fish, i know i have been hard on you lately but damn talk about a dude for the moment. Those were some cold blooded 3's and its no accident that he continues to come through in the clutch. He may not have the skills (especially defensively) that he used to but he has no fear in those big moments and i guess that's why Phil has remained loyal to him when i have been screaming at the TV to get Shannon Brown in the game. I still think you have to find minutes for Brown though, why not Sasha's? its not like he is doing anything with them.
Kobe was awesome, throw the stats away his confidence and never say die attitude filters down the team when things get rough. He wants this more than any other player on the floor and he will walk on broken glass to get it. The guy must be exhausted, but he continues to amaze me with the consistent effort he puts in all over the floor. The hard foul he took on Dwight turned out to be a very smart foul in the end and i loved earlier in the 4th when he just ripped the ball away from Howard and told him to "STFU and play".
Great performance from Ariza to, i hope this kid is our starting SF next season. He is a fighter and he has a knack for making big defensive plays.
Now dont get me wrong the Magic played a hell of a game and probably deserved the win, but its a lot easier to play with that kind of energy when you dont have to be afraid of the whistle. Put it this way, if Bynum was aloud to get away with the contact that Howard is then i dont think this game is as close. Not saying that Bynum is a better player obviously but he does make Howard work much harder and has done a good job keeping a body on him. I have no problem with Dwight being able to play that way but just call it the same the other way. I'd love to see 2 up and coming centers go at it like they used to back in the day.
It'll be interesting to see how the Magic come out next game, they will think that this is one that got away from them so i'd expect them to come out guns blazing. But if we can withstand that initial onslaught i can see doubt creeping into their minds and we can close this out.
Sorry for the long ramble, had a huge bong to celebrate. GO LAKERS!!!

In the post game conference, Van Gundy kept saying there was nothing to the "experience" factor. However, the mismatch in Finals experience showed in the way he was outcoached. He can try and get away from that all he wants.... he is being outcoached. His players are playing as well as the Lakers, sometimes even better. The difference here is the coaching.
