Ariza's agent got played plain and simple, Mitch told him to see what offers he could get for Trevor and the Lakers would see if they would match. That seems like the sensible approach to me, but Trevors agent took that as a diss and started talking shit about the Lakers. Now we have a better player in Crazy Ron and Trevor is signing for the Rockets for the MLE (which im sure the Lakers would have matched). I hope Trevor fires his agent, you could tell he wanted to be back in LA but his agent got greedy and tried to play the big man.
I really liked Trevor, he always played hard and was a great compliment to Kobe on the perimeter. But Ron has a lot more versatility on both ends, he can guard the strong SF's like Bron, Melo and Pierce and even smaller PF's like Dirk and Lewis. He is a strong post up player and for all his craziness he is a fierce competitor. I have faith that Phil, Kobe and Fish can keep Ron stable and all he really needs to do is defend and hit the wide open shots he'll get from Kobe and Pau. Our team looks scary on paper (providing we can get Lamar and Shannon back) hopefully they can get that chemistry going right off the bat in training camp.

Always good to see ya

Trevor got bad advice

Hoping Lamar takes the $8M. The Lakers are they only team that can pay that

This is a scary club. Kobe, Artest, Pau, D-Fish and Bynum or Lamar in the fourth. Incredible

Hedo backed out of negotiations w/ Portland.

He signed with the Raptors. Bigger Turkish following

Best to him

I don't know why they signed him.

They didn't need him and they have no money for other parts of the team.

Dumb signing.

I don't know all of the circumstances, but if I were Hedo, I would've picked Portland. There on the rise. Totronto is in limbo.

I'm glad the Blazers didn't get Hedo for the price he was asking. Especially since it is a 5 year deal and I expect him to really start declining after 3 years. He can help facilitate the offense some, but doesn't help our defense at all, and perimeter defense is where we really struggled. My target for the summer would be a trade for Hinrich. We can take more salary than we send since we are under the cap, while Hinrich replacing Steve Blake would provide the same stuff on offense, but really improve our perimeter defense.

I think they were about to give Ariza a 14 million dollar deal but he turned it down to go to the Rockets.

For how many years?

That would of been a better deal.

It would have?

I think it was for 5 years.

Nothing new on Lamar

1 yr for $8M is a good deal

Was it 14 mil a season, or 5 years for 13 mil?

Rasheed to the Celtics!!! That's great news!!

I don't understand why Odom doesn't take a 3 year 24 million deal (if the Lakers offered that much), but whatever. I'm certain things will work out.

Rasheed turns 35 before the beginning of the season, and its reported Grant Hill (turns age 37 towards the season's beginning) is who Bastin is additionally targeting. They really think having an older team is a good idea!?

In there defense having an older team was a big part of there sucess in 2008.

^

I don't think their formula will continue to work the same this year, not with KG/Allen/Pierce all descending from their primes. Not with LeBron improving each year and the rest of the league's elite teams are much younger. But whatever, I HOPE they fall flat on their face with their plan.

Go Lakers!!!

Go Lakers is right

Hope Lamar signs this week

Celtics getting older

Shannon Brown 2 yr deal woot

My point was that they has a bunch hungry veterans on there team who had never won. Some figured it would be there last shot so they gave it there all as they were desperate. That's hard to dulpicate.

Good stuff resigning Brown. Get Odom now!

Sheed and Boston = Championship. If healthy,

I am going to disregard the above post for my sanity's sake. 😐

Looks like Mitch is calling Lamar's bluff. Don't want to overpay him and I agree. After all no one can pay him as much as we can. I have faith in our GM.

Do it Mitch!

My team is the Spurs, and after the draft week we just had, I'm VERY optimistic about our chances!
