Man, Pritchard really screwed this summer up for the Blazers. Actually, it harkens back to the trade deadline when he didn't trade away Lefrentz' expiring. He's quickly becoming a sub-par GM...fantastic drafter and judge of talent, however.
I've gone from hoping for a Richard Jefferson/Caron Butler type guy to praying to land Hinrich since February.
Originally posted by MythHinrich would have been perfect. Unfortunately, however, Pritchard didn't react quick enough and trade away Blake and Outlaw, because now with Gordon gone, I don't think the Bulls will be trading Hinrich away.

i wouldnt say the jackhammer is a harder move to pull off than an F-5 simply because you use the momentum of the other person. with a suplex the person you're doing it to helps you by moving their body in a certain way. an F-5 is actually putting them on shoulders then lifting them off a bit and hurtling them downwards.

Lakers fans who should we get to replace greedy OdomI'm fed up with him and his agent. Ten years, 1 ring and its all about $
And I thought Lamar said he was willing to take a paycut. I mean damn man your still getting paid millions to play a childs game. 🙁 Whether us Laker fans have the balls to admit it, it is true. Lamar showed up in the Finals but overall he's inconsistent. I wouldn't pay him $10 mil.

Been a while.
Internet issues.
Anyways, I don't particularly like the Magic picking up Carter. He's a bit of a ball hog and he takes a lot of shots; hence why he averages around 20 points a game. He's also injury prone and his infamous reputation precedes himself. The up side, Otis and Ron Jeremy are no non-sense kinda guys. Along with already having vets like Lewis and Nelson (Nelson being not so much a vet as he is mature and a natural leader), I think that Carter will be a contributor instead of an a issue, in that regard at least. And credit due, he has been a team player since he came to the Nets and hopefully that will carry on to Orlando.
I hope he'll be an asset. That guy who can close out the fourth and spread out the offense. It's what the Magic are missing. And with Nelson healthy and sharp, they could be very dangerous once again. But I've my doubts. He's old and he hasn't been half man, half amazing since Toronto. Here's hoping.
That being said, it's a bummer for Orlando to lose Hedo. He's not an all-star, but he was and is still quite good and his specific stature made him unique and thus valuable. He'll be missed.
Losing Alston was necessary. Not that I, among most, aren't grateful. It would've been awesome if the Magic could've worked something out but, you can't always bake your cake and eat it too, as they say.
And the Magic just picked up a decent and young PG in C.J. Watson from the Warriors. He's efficient and will be a much better back up to Nelson as oppose to A.J.
The Magic also acquired SF, Matt Barnes from the Suns. Which is great, imo. He's solid. High energy, a match-up problem and a dedicated player.
The Magic have also been investing in PF's apparently...
Got Brandon Bass from the Mavs, which surprised me. He's been a solid back up PF. And they got Ryan Anderson from NJ.
I'm reserving judgment only because he's a rookie. But my friends say he'll be good. *shrug* I hope so.
And they kept the Warlock. 🙂

I've been on vacation in Russia ever since July 28th. The connection here fails really badly, and the NBA site glitches up.Could anyone tell me any significant news or trades that happened since then? Other then the Carter - Hedo trade.
Carter wasn't traded for Hedo.
Turk opted out of his contract and got picked up by Portland.
Carter, along with Anderson, was traded for Skip, Lee and Battie.
As far as big moves...
I'm sure you've heard Shaq is now with Cleveland?
Lebrick might leave Cleveland for NY. Just rumors though.
Also Ron Artest is now with the Lakers and it looks like Odom is going elsewhere.
Iverson is up in the air to go to either Miami, Memphis and/or the Clippers.
That's the big(ger) news around.
Thanks alot!
Nets are trying to open up cap space for a big contract, I suppose.
Don't know why Hedo would opt out of his contract... He did pretty fine with Magic.
Lebron to New York is really good news. I'm actually a Knicks fan, living in New York and all that.
I never really liked Odom. He's pretty motivational and leader-like on the floor though, or at least looks like it.
Iverson to Miami or Clippers. Can't really imagine him in Memphis with O.J. Mayo. Two guys who love having the ball in their hands on one team. It would be nice seeing him in Miami, with Wade as point. Another person to help out Wade in scoring.

No prob. 🙂
Nets have Harris and having a solid back up PG in Lou is a good move for them. Lee is young and budding. He'll do well. He's about as sharp as a sack of wet mice, but he has the potential to be quite good. Battie is a vet and is an all around player.
And about Iverson and Miami. I don't think Iverson would help Miami much. He's diminished and he'd be overpaid. Sure you give Wade some rest, but Iverson is not that guy anymore, and that guy was a selfish player anyways.
My understanding is that Wade see this as an opportunity, but I don't think the management is behind this move. Plus it's Miami. That city is crazy. I don't think Iverson will be on his best behavior there. Too much temptation.
Miami needs to try and get some big men to strengthen the inside and secure rebounds. The ones they got were flops.

You mean Turk got traded to the Raptors.

I'm pretty sure they had a verbal commitment but the City of Toronto won him over. It helps that it has a huge devoted Turkish community, or from what I heard.
Yeah, they did a verbal agreement.
And it only makes sense for Turk to go to Toronto, both financially and for the sensible purposes of keeping him and his family in a comfortable surrounding.
I'm saddened he's not with the Magic, however I'm happy he's made the best move for him and that he's at least with Toronto, my other team.
