Guy, what do you think of Kobe's climbing of the scoring list. I think he can get Jordan. But it'd be quite a stretch to get up there with Malone and Kareem. He's obviously still playing t an elite level but also clearly declining.

i think kobe can get to mike

i want kobe to get seven rings

he stays in great shape, but the knee is a concern...but he's kobe and never does he allude to being in great pain

i hope he doesn't play like most legends, just hanging on to try and get records

Just because he's "kobe" doesn't change the fact that he has over 1200 games (including playoffs) on those knees.

7 rings for Kobe doesn't mean he's better than Mike.

Not by a long shot...

Where did you get that from? If you're talking about Guy's post those were two separate thoughts.

First line he was talking about the all time scoring list.

Yeah, the 7 rings comment had nothing to do with comparing him to Michael.

Uh, the first line was a reply to DM.

I could be wrong, and Guy could come in and correct me, but the second line seems like a separate thought.

lakers win again

blew out the highly overrated knicks

109-87

led by kobe's 27, pau and lamar had double doubles, big drew outplayed amare scoring 18 pts. shannon paced the bench

for my original post about kobe, i never mentioned anything about michael jordan

seven rings for him b a nice accomplishment for a guy in his rookie year shot two airballs vs utah and has come a long way trusting teammates and becoming one of the all time greats

I agree. Michael never let a finals go to a game 7. Kobe's been outright stomped twice in the finals. Jordan was lights out. Kobe is great but not the best ever.

melo/hamilton/saucey to the nets

geez

Cavs just got blown out 57-112 by Lakers. And people were actually expecting Lebron to get this supporting cast a title? 😕

lakers win by 55

😂

112-57

total team effort led by gasol/bynum/artest/kobe and shannon

everyone scored that played

lakers win again

115-110

led by kobe's 39(17 in the 4th), pau scores over 20, big drew another double double and lamar scores 16 of his 18 in the 4th

charles dumbass barkley recently said kobe is slowing down...what a stupid sob

The players on that team have given up psychologically. They weren't that bad to start the season. Don't give me that rubbish. Two straight seasons of 60+ wins.

2 straight seasons of 60+ wins with Lebron to the worst record in the league without him. To me the only reason they were that competitive was because of him. He did nearly everything for that team, from scoring to setting up others to score. His supporting cast on those Cleveland teams were just not good enough for them to win a title.

heat and magic have lost two in a row

lakers win again

100-88

led by kobe's 28(10-19), pau had 20 and lamar almost a double double. shannon scored in double figures again. good to see farmar and sasha play well for the nets

I disagree. Winning 60+ wins two straight seasons, having homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs, etc. should be enough. It was clear to me that Cleveland could have won Game 6 in Boston. LeBron hit two pull-up 3-pointers and hid after that, deferring away from the offense. At the end, he didn't even touch the ball on 2-3 straight possessions. He gave up with victory still up for grasp.

Cleveland swept the Lakers during the regular season. All that "LeBron would've never won a title in Cleveland" is bullshit and totally overblown. Would he? Maybe, maybe not. The point is that he had a more than legitimate shot. He decided to leave. That's fine. But stop with the claims that he never would have won. All was fine when they were laughing, joking, "taking pictures", launching pre-game half-court shots, going to 60+ wins, etc. but they collectively failed in the playoffs when it mattered. I seem to remember them destroying teams up until the ones that defeated them.
