Mike James is one of those guys who teeters between bench and starter quality. He averaged about 12 points, 3 assts per game for the Rockets. I expect those to go up on the Raptors. He'll possibly get more playing time and more touches since T-Mac has a lot of the ball control once the Rocket's PG brings it up to the 3-point line.

could be a good deal then?

i hope so... a decent point gaurd to share the ball about between mo pete and cb4, and you never know. championship? hell no. 30 wins is my aim for the raps

One area that James excels in over Alston is defense, which really should start with your PG. If your PG cant d it up then your big men are gonna be in foul trouble more often than not. So in that respect its a good trade.

Alston is a little *****. He was a cancer on the bench, and is seriously ****ed up in the head.

I dont know anything about James, but if plays every game to his best and not complain every two seconds and they retire after every game, then he's better/

By that rationale he is definitely better.

lol, i take it alston was that bad with attitude problems then? i've heard of it blosing up a couple of times...

if he can play some d then hes certainly welcome to the raptors.

another topic... what team has the best/worst nicknames? what would you rename the worst ones?

Alston threatened to quit after a game, walked out on practices and the most important, didnt use the coaches plays but instead made up his own plays on the court.
Who do you think he is? Jordan?

i thought he was rafer alston..... but like i mentioned, i didnt know who rafer alston was. seems like a good thing that hes gone. i know him only really from and1 mixtapes... and its not really something that fits into the nba. perhaps the individuality alston had in the and1 tapes were too much of his own persona to shake off for the nba. ah well, we got a different player now, and he seems ok.

My fault. Im horrible at grammer.
I meanth
Who does he think he is? Jordan?

Yeah, he has the skill no doubt. He can score and dribble and all that jazz, but he's a nutjob.

I know this is off the subject, but all I have to say is that the Phoenix Suns are going to come out in the WEST. There is no Lakers, ..there is only San Antonio, and I think with our latst aquistions (nevermind punk *ss Joe Johnson), this is the year Spurs go down. The Man, as quoted by Shaq himself, is Amare Stoudemire...A.K.A. STAT. Give me your thoughts on the up n coming SunS?

I still don't think the Suns will pass Spurs up. The Spurs handed the Suns their asses and the Suns didn't improve that much. Don't forget, the Spurs upgraded too. They've added another big man, Fabrico Oberto, that could possibly replace Nazr at starting C, and they've added Van Exel and Finley in the backcourt. They didn't lose anybody unlike the Suns who lost 2 of their best 3 point shooters in Richardson and Johnson. This is not to say that the Suns don't have a chance, but the Spurs were better last year and didn't lose any key players but only added while the Suns lost 2 of their important players to last years success.

Also, it probably won't be a factor come playoff time, but Amare is going to be out for a while with a hurt knee and he is potentially looking at surgery so that could really hurt the Suns.

One more thing 9x9. I just noticed you are new here so I'd like to say welcome. I hope you stay because it is always good to have more people to discuss NBA.

welcome newbie. i think the suns will do fine, but the spurs are always the team to beat. maybe the mavs will surprise this year, i think in the past they've been overloaded so not always known who to go to when it counts. now, its nowitzki. spurs may well win the ring though, unless miami gel or detroit do well with their new coach.... and one last tip.....

dont forget indiana

smooth man. do i have to be at my computer for the draft? or do i just pick from whats left or is it automatically done?

Just pre rank your players in the order you would like them picked and if you cant make it to the draft then you will automatically get assigned the players as you ranked them when its your turn.
I missed the draft for another league im in but i still came away with a pretty solid team, i must admit im looking forward to this league alot more though.
