T'Wolves and Celtics just made a trade. Celtics gave up Banks, Davis, Blount and maybe picks (not sure of that) while T'Wolves got rid of Wally, Kandiman and someone else.
This sounds to me like T'Wolves have mugged the Celtics. The Celtics get a player in Wally how is solid offensively but plays the same position as their best player and OlowaIdontcare who is a pretty lame center. The T'Wolves on the other hand get Davis and Banks who are a quick athletic backcourt and Blount who is a definite upgrade from Kandiman. All this and they unload Wally's huge contract, McHale must have some incriminating photos of Ainge to pull this one off. Thoughts?

It was two future second round picks.

I was angry when I first saw the trade on NBA.com. It only advertised the Ricky Davis for Wally part of the trade. I'm not a fan of Davis and I like the T-Wolves. Then I read the rest and it looks pretty good for the T-Wolves. I think Blount is better than Kandi and I like the addition of Marcus Banks as well. Plus 2 picks that may actually be better off in trades but could turn into somebody like Salim Staudamire if they're lucky (who my team played against in High School btw).

that trade is horrible, i dont think neither team got better, wally has been on the bubble for like 3 years in minnesota, and in the past 3 years they could got someone better than davis....but thats not what i came to talk about, i wanted to get everyones opinion on who they want or think should be MVP...right now, if i had to pick an MVP right now i would say chancey billups 🙂

He has a great chance of getting it simply because of their record but I don't think he should. Detroit's success is too much of a team effort to be saying that he is MVP. I say Detroit gets home court advantage, Coach of the Year, and maybe a Defensive Player of the Year in Big Ben but you don't just hand out MVPs to people simply because they are the best player on the best team.

Oh, and as for the Wally trade. Normally I would say don't trade Wally. However, if the T-Wolves didn't try something, Garnett would be gone for sure this summer. They had to take a gamble to please Garnett.

smasandian... yeah a little crazy. i can see a trade coming up though. i dont think bab was gonna do any moving, which i think was a good thing... keep this young nucleous and see how far it gets us when they all develop... but now they've brought in someone else i'm a bit dubious... i sense a trade coming..... i think babcock was just starting to get things right... yeh the vince episode was a bad deal, and everyone thought villanueva was gonna be a bust... but it was a very good pick. grahem seems to be an able player, and calderon was a great choice. the james for alston deal has paid off a hellova lot too. ah well.

tell me what u think of this trade, i just did it in my fantasy league, i gave away pau gasol for tony parker and drew gooden.

i disagree, there were times when he carryed detriot to victory almost singlehandly, like earlier in the week against the t-wolves, i think him playing on the best team is gonna work against him, without billups detriot would still be good, but definetly not as good, there ****in awesome right now, when billups is on, detriot is unstoppable....i think he finally realized that this year....last year against the spurs he didnt drive enough, or shoot enough, he wasnt playing like billups, he was too busy trying to get his teammates involved, but when he shoots and drives more that opens up his teammates for better shots, that is the only thing that is different from this year to last year for detriot....and as for the t-wolves, the bottom line is that they need new management

I think alot of Detroit's success this year is down to Flip Saunders taking the reigns off them offensively while still maintaining their defensive intensity. Their starting 5 hasnt changed even their bench is pretty much the same, so i would put it mostly down to Flips coaching style.

Yeah, I give more credit to Flip being the reason than Billups.

wuTa - You said that there's been times when Billups almost single-handedly led the team. Thats true, but he doesn't do it enough to where he is MVP. As I said, I see it more as a team effort. If Billups is removed, I think you're right, they will not do as well. But they would still be a top 3 team. However, the same would go if you removed any of the starting five of Detroit.

On some controvery notes:
Ike Thomas and the Utah Jazz have each been accused of different controveries.
Thomas was accused of sexual harrassment and trying to get opposing players drunk (at strip clubs?) before their games in New York.
The Jazz have been accused of over-inflating their balls for years. Their style of play under Sloan has always been pick and roll for lay-ups so they hope jump shooting teams will brick their way out of the games.

more controversy... former blazer and hawk isaiah "jr" rider was arrested for kidnapping an ex girlfriend. she got in his car but apparantly left the door open and he tried to drive off. ho hum.

Well Myth, you won't have to worry about the "Birdman" in the dunk contest anymore.

you may may think that he hasnt taken games over enought to become mvp, but you have to remember that were not even at the half-way point, even on the best team you have to an someone carry you threw the when your in droughts, he did against LA two years ago, and is doing it again this year but sadly he prolly wont even get an all-star nod..sure they would be in the top 3, but thats because they are in the east, without billups there is no way they could do what they've done this year, everyone knows how important the point guard position is, and without him running the show detriot would be in deep shit...also flip saunders has done a great job, but like kool said all he did was take the reigns off offensively, he inherated a great team, it doesnt take a special coach to do what he's done

and like the jazz i too have overinflated balls...i need to get laid

Oh, Billups will be on the all-star team. No way in hell will he not be on it this year. He's in MVP talks. That will automatically get him an all-star birth. I'm thinkin we'll see some other new Piston all-stars this year as well.

Thank God Birdman's out.

DARKO!!!!! 😱

Oh no. Darko will replace Chris Anderson in the dunk contest? ........................... 😆

Darko reminds me of Eric Montross btw.

Alright, Nate Robinson is the first person selected to the dunk contest. Good choice so far. Hope they don't **** this up this year.

all im asking is that one person respond, what do u think of this deal that i just did?.... giving up pau gasol for tony parker and drew gooden.

OMG, i cannot believe this, in my other thread 2 people have managed 2 say that wade is a better athlete than vince so easily... who here thinks wade is a better athlete than carter??not player...not skill....not talent.... (not that im backing down from that)....but who is a better athlete?

OMG, i cannot believe this, in all of your other threads you can't stop talking about how much you are in love with Vince Carter. Let it go, there are other players in the NBA. If we all say that he is the greatest player in the history of the NBA, will you stop talking about him?
