Heathenry

To be a Heathen means to live a life in constant pursuit of pleasure. It doesn't necessarily mean to be "anti christian"...even though Christians use that term a lot for Atheists and Buddhists.

Just means a person who indulges in the pleasures of life, perhaps even to excess.

However, I did not know that Norse or German mythology called itself Heathenism....learn something new every day.

The reason for this is because Norse pagans used to live on the heath, so they were called heathens. What happened was that Christians started to change the meaning of the word heathen to something bad, its the usual tactic of making a certain relgion be associated with negativity so you would not want to follow that religion anymore.

Yea, early Christian Authorities took the meaning of a Heathen and twisted it into a definition for convienent for themselves.

When they call someone else a Heathen, they are basically claiming that this person, instead of devoting thier lives and energy to God, are devoting thier lives and energy to material and sense pleasures.

It is basically calling someone a lazy, self indulging, pleasure-seeking bum. (by Christian standards)

I am faithful to the Guardian of Asgard Thor.

Why?

Thor is one of the true Gods, and the one I choose to pay homage to. It cannot be denied. How would my prowess be so great if I did not labor for the Thunder God? How would it be raining right now? How would the moon be sundered by Thor's hammer Mjolnir each month and grow back? Where would those who fell in epic battle ascend to if not Valhalla, the Great Hall of the Father of Victory Odin?

All questions with no answer, for the path of Thor I follow is a true one.

It is known to us that Thor, the mightiest of the Skyfathers barring only his one eyed Allfather, Thor, the most powerful of the Odinson, will give us the strength...
Let their blood stain my labor cap (rag) that I wear in Honor of the Guardian of Asgard. For when the twilight of Ragnarok is upon us... sunder the helms of Giantkind or wield Mjolnir in the face of the mighty World Serpent Jörmungandr? Those who hold firm in their beliefs or a living scripture and the divinity of Yeshua shall also have their blood spilled and not see the splendor that is Valhalla.

May the Thunder God's Strength reflect through me, for I shall use it for what causes he would justify. Let those who, beknowest to them or not, follow the treachery of Loki and the Giants perish at the end of my battle ready hammer as my last breth fades and I am escorted by the Valkyries to Asgard as you, oh mighty Thor, will defeat and die in battle against the Serpent of Midgard.

Some was edited out (due to it being a specific context) so it is a bit choppy.

Yes, as will you when Ragnarok is upon us.

The Blind One will see your lack of faith and sacrifice for him and his creations.

Er bro not all warriros that dies go to valhalla. You go to vallhalla if you honour Odin, if ypou honour Thor you go to Thrudrheim.

Well I belive the gods can take physical form but its more intellignet to make the myths metaphorically.

Then you are confused and missing the point. Mythology is never to be taken literally. You must think about what is meant by the stories.

Guys, I was kidding to prove a point (if only to myself). I know you must look past the story. My grandfather would always tell me stories of mythology and then help me get to the meaning. Like when Thor threw Mjolnir and it hit an axe in the air, and my memory is a tad hazy, but, I know there was either a storm or fire. Telling people how to make fire with flint and steel. Also, like when Chronus, the Titan, ate all of his children (save for Zeus) in Greek Mythology. Chronus means time (think chronological), and the meaning is that time eats its children.

I do, however, wear a maroon bandanna and tell people that it is my cap I wear when I labor (well, paint houses) in homage to Thor (instead of a red shield).

If I posted my opinion on all that Norse stuff, I am sure you would be offended.

I would only be offended if you presented it as the only right path to be pursued.

....

Oh I get it.

Anyway its what I think of believing in Thor and all them.

offending people on the internet is like the special olympics....

😖hifty:

I remember that. 😂
