"Even so," says Palpatine, "the risks are large... as Masters you are notable personages and Kuylen knows the Order well. On the other hand... it is hardly seemly to let pirates and bounty hunters threaten our own on one of the major worlds of the Republic, eh?" Palpatine smiles.

"Indeed, Chancellor," says Scovione. "Though I believe that Balek will not be so stupid as to attempt to assassinate a Jedi in Republican space."

"And these pirates?" asks Palpatine.

"Difficult to tell until Marcus can find out more."

"I see," says the Chancellor. "Well then, Master Scovione, if it is indeed your wish to go to Malastare to warn Master Gundark and the others of the danger they could find themselves in, then I am sure that is the best thing to do, if you keep a low profile.

"But Master Marcus, what to do with you, hmm?"

well chancelor, since these pirats seem to operate from malastare and it was my mission to investigate, I still think it is best that I travel to malastare aswell to find out more and so try to end these pirats and their evil intentions, we don't want another planet to leave the republic and rather let some jedi handle it then sending in an army or peace keeping troops I think,
but then again, I'm at the will of both the council and the Force

(No actual evidence that they operate from Malastare, Fire! They operate from the Outer RIm near the Damagran Confederacy)

Sieri takes a deep breath, " Who are these guys? There must be something I'm missing. These pirates are certainly like none I've ever encountered." She hits the com switch. "Master Gundark, Master Gundark....are you there?"

sorry, there still is no prove that they operate from malastare, but I have a feeling that they are present on malastare and are planning to do very dangerous

"I'd be surprised if any of them were on Malastare," says Scovione. "It's a miracle their organisation still exists; they wouldn't risk themselves by coming so deep into the Republic. They would be hunted down in an instant."

"Yet clearly Master Marcus feels strongly about this threat," says Palpatine, amiably. "It occurs to me that there are not many leads to be followed... I assume someone has gone to Jaglon Beta?"

"Abandoned," says Scovione. "There was little left of it in any case after Kuylen's men dealt with it."

"Then perhaps the only person left with any answers at all is Kuylen himself..." says Palpatine. "Marcus, if you would be willing to accept, then I myself would be willing to put you on Master Gundark's team. Your primary objective would then be to hunt down Kuylen before he causes any more damage but if you can find some evidence about the Red Lance while you are there, then this would not be an unwelcome outcome..."

Julie, you are detecting a lot of comms traffic between the pirate ship and the liner.

you and Mah are currently in the passenger quarters where, as I say, the doors are all locked.

so the doors which lead further on towards the bridge are closed..?

again the republic has shown it's use
I'm a greatful for this opportunity and will give it the best my abilities

*bows to palpatine and to scovione*

if this is all, then am I allowed to go now?

No, the doors to the passenger rooms are locked, and the passengers can't get out.

-------

Xeth follows Master Gundark and Phinney into the engine room. He keeps his saber handy, and totes his sonic blaster.

BB has that right, Mah.

Xeth, unless you double back and go via the long route you are going to have to fight your way up through engineering!

Ok, Fire, that pretty much concludes the meeting. You and Scovione will be off soon-ish.

Yeah, I know. I want some action. 😉

Mah uses his lightsabre to hack at the doors to try and unlock them.

(Why do you want to get to the passengers Mah? I think they're safe where they are; the pirates can't get in their rooms)

I have no problem with you wanting action, BB, just giving you the deal. You waiting for Gundark or going in now?

Mah, you just broke into a cabin with two very scared Neimodians inside.

"Ah, please, don't hurt us..." they say in their drawn-out accents. Then they see who you are.

"Do you know anything about where remaining pirates might've gone?" Mah asks

"No, no, I know nothing..." pleads the Neimodian. The other one is offering you money to get him out of here.

Sieri nearly strains her ears trying to sort out all the comm chatter. "uh that's not good is it?" she muses to herself.

"I'm sorry, that I cannot do." says Mah and leaves. He heads in the direction of the bridge again.

You are trying to break through into their frequency, Julie... it appears to be two people talking urgently to each other but hard to tell what they are saying.

Mah- problem. The hijack-proof doors have sealed the passenger area from the route to the bridge. Hijack proof doesn't mean lightsabre proof, of course, but it's a set of big bastards and could take you time.

Gundark, upon seeing an unfriendly face above, pulled her lightsabre and Force-jumped the rest of the way to the next landing.
