Lance, you just walked into the sabre training dojo at the Jedi Temple.
You step back out again, surprised, just to confirm that you ARE still on Malastare and not travelled though some wormhole. Yup, definitely on Malastare.
You look back in and there are little differences. The people, for a start- not Jedi, but normal Grans and humans. Some of the artifacts aren't quite right. But other than that this is a perfect copy of where you all learnt how to use the lightsabre. Heck, where did these artifacts come from? Some of these are rather rare and valuable!
Some people are traing and sparring, with wooden practice swords, some are practicing against dummies with metallic sharp ones. In the middle, two people are fighting with wooden swords and heavy practice armour. Your experinced views sum it up immedaitely; a young and fast fighter versus an older, more experienced one. The older one is going to win.
Nice try, Lance, but the trainer is ACTUALLY the older guy duelling in the middle, so you probably pick him out...
As you approach, he turns towards you, and takes off his face mask, revealing an ageing human
"Lance?" he asks.
My word, it's Teshan!
ALL of you know Teshan. He's not a Jedi, but he IS a good swordfighter- he helps Yoda teach the Younglings at the Temple, including all of you- they need all the civilian instructors they can get, as Jedi can rarely be spared for such training.
Actually, now you think about it, he WOULD be getting on a bit by now...
"Lance, it IS you! My my!" He looks around at the rest of you. "Sieri, Mah, Xeth... even little Kellan!"
(And boy, was Teshan a dark-haired, handsome man when YOU knew him, Gundy...)
"Well well... but yes, yes, I am fine! Retired, of course." He smiles. "I mean, there wasn't one of you little buggers that couldn't beat me by the time you were 10, what with your speed and senses... but when the six year olds started to beat me as well, I realised it was perhaps time to bow out gracefully... but now I run this place! Train with the man who once helped train the Jedi, see? It's very attractive. I do good business teaching these people how to handle a sword... none of them as talented as you, of course!"
"Oh no," said Teshan, "They said no-one was to see it. It's terrible, very terrible... he was a talented student, as well. I have no idea what he was even doing out back, let alone who would want to kill him. But... not that I do not appreicate your presence, my friends..." he says, in a 'Yikes, these kids have grown big!' kind of voice, "... but isn't a murder like this more of a matter for the local authorities, rather than the Jedi?" I would imagine you had bigger things to deal with!"
