USH'S GAME EPISODE III- 'ARTIFACT'. Light Side Area

Lance pointed out the blast marks to the men in charge of the investigation. Asking if they had noticed it yet.

They hadn't really noticed much; they were mostly waiting for you to do all the work.

Hmm, this would certainly have been a HECK of a lot of effort just to blow up some spare parts storage room.

Xeth, you know what is bothering you. They used thermal detonators to blow up this room- VERY expensive things. But they used TWO. Now, for sure, one would have been enough to make sure everything in here was beyond repair. But they used TWO, which only had the effect of blowing up things that were already blown up. Aside from anything else, that's just sloppy.

Incidentally, this was a heavy-duty storage room; it kept large ship parts.

"Do you have any idea why they would want to destroy nothing but spare parts?"

Gundark turned away from the Astrolabe. "We're on a highly secretive mission," she began. "I can't give you a lot of details but the reason we've come to see you is regarding a man named Kuylen."

None of the police know why Lance, no. They were hoping you would have some insight. But the attackers were definitely here too long if all they were doing was blowing the depot

"I don't think I know a Kuylen," says Ascar. "What does this mission have to do with me?"

BTW, Gundark, just to add to your irritations... you are pretty sure you have seen the markings that the Astrolabe had been set TO (and then back to Avalar)... but only vaguely, not like the Avalar hieroglyphs that you had actually seen on the planet itself.

You can memorise them, and call someone to check the Jedi Archives when you are done here- if you have seen it at all then the knowledge must be there.

"This person we're looking for, this Kuylen," she explained. "We think he may try to contact you because of the Sith artifacts you possess. He may be seeking this Astrolabe in particular."

Ascar raises an eyebrow.

"Well, if he wants to make an appointment to see my collection he can, though the astrolabe is not for sale. Unless you are telling me that his man Kuylen is an enterprising thief, in which case the warning is appreciated but I think you will find my security here sufficient to deter intruders. But I must say, if this is so, I am surprised to see the Jedi involved in tracking some form of artefact thief. Or has he stolen something from your very own Temple?"

"Kuylen may possess certain pieces of data, which, without the capabilities of the Astrolabe, would be impossible to interpret and therefore useless." She gave Ascar a grave look. "Kuylen went to....dangerous lengths in order to obtain this data. Its not something you're going to just pick up from a Bothan spy."

"The only data this equipment could interpret would be ancient Sith maps, which hardly seems likely. But this Kuylen is a dangerous man, yes?"

"Dangerous is an understatement," Gundark said, the duel still fresh in her mind. She must have gone over it a thousand times, analyzing every move that she had made. "We have very reliable information that Kuylen is here, on Malastare, now."

"Well, as I say," says Ascar. "My security arrangements are considerable and Persis is a skilled bodyguard. I doubt this 'Kuylen' will achieve anything, especially following your timely warning."

"I have no doubt as to the qualifications of your security staff," she said. "We've visited the dojo you funded." She walked casually around a bit more of the collection. "Impressive facility. Your generosity is apparent."

"Well, Teshan asked for help, I was intrigued," says Ascar. "But it is hardly a facility suitable for security training. Teshan teaches a sport, really. You may have noticed Persis carried rather more concrete protection." He DID have a big gun...

"Sport. Interesting choice of words. Of course you know a Jedi has no need of a weapon other than a lightsabre."

"Well, of course," says Ascar. "Though I am not sure if I see the relevance of that... or do I take it you are offering to guard my premises? I still have difficulty seeing where the Jedi fit into this matter..."

"The information Kuylen has, if it can be interpreted, could give him access to a tremendous amount of resources that may be Sith-oriented." Her thoughts strayed to Qui-Gon. "I also seek him out in connection to the death of a fellow Master."

"The death of a MASTER?" says Ascar, surprised. "Just what sort of criminal IS this Kuylen?"

"A criminal of the Republic," she stated flatly. "And a dangerous foe to the Order."

"Oh, very well," says Ascar. "So, you suggest that I should, perhaps, move the Astrolabe to somewhere more safe?"

"If this Kuylen does contact you, I would ask that you most definitely move the Astrolabe out of sight," she replied. "As a law-abiding citizen of the Republic, of course. And if he does indeed contact you, I wish to know it immediately. You can reach me through Prefect Moran."
