USH'S GAME EPISODE III- 'ARTIFACT'. Dark Side area

The race goes on. Several racers back up angrily against others in the Narrows, but the crowd is watching the battle between Galder and speedy... Galder gets a better start in the Narrows but Speedy, with his faster pod, comes out ahead still!

At the back, Bashy is pushing up against Twisty, who is clearly having engine problems...

The other Mogarian still seems stuck in the middle.

NOW ENTERING: The Twists, lap 1.

The pods all pull together in the twist. Galder tries to chase down speedy but it turns into a disaster! Both of them put on far too much speed and have to actually stop their pods before they slam into a wall! They have to start moving again from scratch, as Dodgy and Quadro pass them.

The crowd cheers as there is the first physical contact- Bashy and Twsisty do much better in this section, and Bashy eventually cathces his prey and gives a nasty knock to the rear corner. Twisty wobbles out of control, but gets back in the game- though not before Bashy takes his place.

The other Mogarian has a bad start, nearly boosting into a wall, but then pulls off some perfectly timed cornering and is catching up with the leaders!

NOW ENTERING: The Lake, lap 1.

Takuan pays great attention to the race, though the presence of the jedi is disturbing.

The crowd whoops as things turn nasty in the Lake! The green mists obscure the cameras but this makes it more exciting still as several pods make aggressive overtake attempts! Looks like both Mogarian drivers are having a bad time of the racing, though...

takuan is calm on his seat. He hopes for a better position in the coming time.

The crowd whoops again as Bashy gives another nasty knock to Twisty as he tries to get past. Speedy, who started out in the lead, regains some places after shooting by Quadro, who is slipping all over on the lake. Both 'Mogarian' racers vigorously attempts to overtake them, though the cameras are not focussing on them.

The pods are rounding the final corner now to take them back to the straight and to pass back in front of you. The Mogarians are in a clump of four racers, all fighting for place!

NOW ENTERING: The Straight, Lap 2.

Dexx, Galder shoots towards the line to start his second lap. He's going very fast. But suddenly, his energy bindings fail. They just cut out, all at once. Suddenly the forces produced by his pod are without control. One engine detaches, rocketing towards the crowd, falling low and exploding against a camera stand, vaporising it. The other spins out of control, taking Galder's cockpit with it. As you watch in horror, it careers sharply leftwards towards the inner wall. There is a large, loud, fiery explosion, and Galder's burnt, broken and very dead body rolls away from the devastation.

(ergh....that was sudden)
Takuan instanly stands up and runs toward the arena.
9is there a big fence or something between the seats and the arena?)

i'm having trouble finding this incident in the pod race thread...is this waht will soon hapen?

Takuan reaches the edge of the arena. he's aware that he shouldn't get noticed especially with jedi around but he must reach the burning pod.
(so...is there a fence overthere?)

The crowd cheers loudly as the pods pass through the Straight and in front of you people again. There is laughter as Quadro, who has taken the final corner of the last lap too wide, clips the side of the starting post and wobbles dangerous for a while, allowing the pack- including both Mogarians- to catch up! Now there is a tussle as all four pack members try to pass Quadro, who is desperately blocking to try and keep his place...

And Takuan, you come to trying to push through the dense crowds, who are looking at you oddly. Galder's pod has just passed the lap line, safe and sound.

(Then who exploded???)

Galder, concentrating on the other Mogarian, slips up, and gets totally blocked in by Quadro. The other Mogarian slips past into a very healthy third place!

Up front, Dodgy is going well but the crowd gasps as part of his pod starts to spark and burn, trailing puffs of smoke. Something big on his pod detaches and explodes as he enters the Narrows! And some cack-handed official releases the maintenance bots far too early, who swarm into the Narrows just as the racers are coming through! This is going to be nasty...

Speedy skids badly and loses time. He streaks forwards trying to catch Dodgy before the Narrows, but JUST doesn't make it.

At the back, everyone is looking forward to more fights between Bashy and Twisty, but to their disappointment, Bashy is pulling ahead...

I DID tell you not to be worried about anything Dexx is saying to you! Besides, Takuan can see you, right there, yelling (best you can in that suit) at Quadro!

Takuan is rather shocked to see Galder safe and sound passing into the next lap. Then..what did he see from his seat?

The crowd is whooping loudly as the pods plunge through the Narrows. The field is becoming very tight and the fracas is getting worse as emotions run high! SOMETHING has to give soon!

Takuan, you are trying to think it over. You saw Galder appraoch the finish line, the three overhead lights turn blue as...

Wait! THREE lights? But the second has only just come on, for lap two!

Oh no... you know what that was now. This sort of thing used to happen to you before Kuylen found you, when you did not understand your powers... you had this habit of seeing things that had not yet happened!
