The man keeps snapping shots at you as you retreat. You can feel great hatred emanating from him. He looks quickly around the room, to see if there is anything that can help him.

There shouldn't be much. takuan can allow all his focus and strength on his defense now. he's finished with the attacking. he keeps the retreating going proffiting on the man not paying attention while searching for help objects. Perhaps this hadn't been the last of him
(seems more want him dead now, eh?). he's almost at the door where the inspection tunnels begin, and where he needs to get out from.

You are currently escaping through the superstructure of the stadium. You can sense some people about a hundred yards away, who may present safety, or you can try and escape back to the public areas, which are about twice as far.

Takuan wants to reach the public places. He's very focused on his defense, his saber tightly into position. Still facin Balek he walks backwards, slowly inceasing his speed. He thinks the hitman won't get out in public, especially with that arsenal strapped around him.

(Actually, it's quite well concealed. He has a utility belt, but then it often seems EVERYONE has, and a blaster, and then he just has that one arm that looks somewhat bulky. I bet he can't answer the phone with it, though).

Indeed you are right- it seems Balek isn't going to follow you out in public. You soon lose him in that network and quietly drop back into the public area...

...where you discover that the race is all over!

in the public area, Takuan consults the race standings. damn..i guess we'll need those mercenaries afterall he thinks. at least Gald's alive. he's still thinking about balek and about how things turned out. Next time, he'll be more prepared

Takuan heads for the rear of the stadium planning to exit. He'll meet Gald outside

Takuan grabs a cab heading for ascar's building
On the way he opens a comlink to the mercenarie leader.
"alright, we're going to get the astrolabe the hard way. i should be arriving any minute" he says "i'm going with you"

Nayler. He would be distressed to be called a mercenary...

"My men will be ready in fifteen minutes," he says. "We will launch an aerial assault on his office directly."

Hmm. Traffic's bad, but you might be able to make it.

"ok, i should make it" he says "i'm joining the retrieval team, whoever you choose to send"
"hurry up" He adresses to the cab driver inflicting a small forcewave ment to help on the man's persuasion, not that this was all up to him

Galder is also in Takuan's cab. "Yes, me as well. You'll need a strong fighter in that place!"

The cab slows down. There is a large, slow moving area ahead. It seems that there is some sort of hold up. Your cab is now just hovering in mid-air.
