USH'S GAME EPISODE III- 'ARTIFACT'. Dark Side area

"Get lost," says the man, as he prepares to pull the trigger.

takuan almost force pulls the man. That would propulse him out of a shooting space. But then considers the jedi being notiffied by such a force use. He quickly steps besides him and prepares to grab that weapon of his. he has his saber safely held to prevent any unexpected incidents.

You move towards him. The man quickly eyes you and, upon seeing your sabre, spins quickly towards you.

He is wearing worn leather clothing and has a grizzled, ill-shaven face with curly black hair. His right eye is badly scarred. He lets the odd rifle clatter to the ground and a spring-drawn blaster jumps into his hand, which he levels towards you.

(assuming i am close enough to him)
Takuan analises for a second the man's formed traits. Upon seing his blaster he raises his saber and in the same move ignites it and slashes the weapon.

When you raise your sabre, the man holds out his right arm to block your blow, which seems dumb at first.

But as you slash you are surprised to see a small energy field flick into operation from the arm (which now you look at it, is more bulky than it should be)

Your sabre skews slightly on the shield and the man deflects the blow. He then twists to be able to get a good shot...

(those vibroblade stuff?)
Still unwilling to use the force, Takuan engages a series of attacks at the man. His shield doesn't look like much of an offense power. He's carefull though, not to kill him. Things can be found out from him after an interogation..especially who's he working for

(Vibroblade?)

The man, who has no such hesitation about trying to kill you, blocks your next blow with his shield-arm and then pummels that arm into you. The (rather surprising) force of this blow throws you backwards, cracking a rib in the process. That is NOT an organic arm! Your sabre starts to tumble out of your hand but by reflex you pull it back at once, in time to deflect the next few shots he fires.

(Dexx, you may want to cheat a little and ask Rex, in real life, who it is you are fighting...)

(hmm...one of his aquaintances?..ok rex..who am i fighting?)
Takuan still determined not to use force offensive appeals to the force only in search of balance and better attack development. His saber shield shouldn't be by far as mobile and maneuvrable as a saber. The man's counterattack surprised him. He focuses and heads towards him again, this time more prepared for an unexpected move...

(It's built into his arm so it is as manoeuvrable as his arm is!)

As you move towards him, he extends that arm. A section extends from the side of it, and from that six long, deadly spikes shoot at high-speed towards you...

Takuan underestimated the scruffy looking opponent. A mistake he will be more reserved of doing in the future. he did not feel the slightest disturbance in the force while approaching him so that shouldn't make him trained in the jedi arts (would it?). The spikes come a bit like a surpise but with a combined force appeal and saber use he manages to deviate and avoid them. Pressed anger is begginig to engulf him. He releases a force flow towards the man ment to literaly lift and stick him on the neared dark moistured cielling. he's still carefull about any attacks the man could provide with that blade.

(He doesn't have a blade! And no, he has no Force powers)

Using your sabre to try and beat the spikes proves inadequate- this weapon is not impressed by a sabre, almost as if it were designed that way. However, your assailant underestimated your strength in the Force and your talent, combined with your desperation, waves the spikes away to sheer through the wall behind you.

(BTW, at this point you hear an explosion somewhere nearby)

You rage towards your attacker, and he starts to fly away, as you expected. But then he keeps going, shooting backwards, and not towards the ceiling as you wanted... he has activated a projectile harness, and is pulling himself at high speed towards the opposite wall.

He comes to a stop and raises his shield to cover the centre of his body and keeps his blaster close to the edge of the shield. From this protected position he starts snapping off fast and accurate shots in your direction, almost too fast and too many for you to block...

(Your problem here, Dexx, is that this guy was designed to fight the Lances and Galders of this game. I feel obliged to inform you that there is considerable risk in fighting him)

(so he's known in games before?..damn...kind of risky, eh?)
a well prepared opponent thinks Takuan almost too well damn it. But he has No force powers, that should grant him a considerable advantage. Seeing what this man is capable of, Takuan looses his intentions not to harm or kill him and as noticed before his intentions of not using the offensive part of the force. The blasts come showering away. Some he deflects and some he just strafes from. But he knows that he can't keep much of this fooling around. The man must be stopped A angered determination surrounds him. The task there to be furfilled and he will do it. he payed little attention to the earlier explosion. He just hopes it's not galder blowing up out there.
He concentrates his force flow of the moment to try and pull the masn's blaster out of his hand. he can deal with his defensive part afterwards.

(so...exactly how strong is he?....and what risk am i taking here. If he's good enough..i dunno if fleeing is considered yet)

Well, obviously, I cannot straight advise you the best thing to do. But here are some things to bear in mind:

1. This guy IS good enough to kill players- he has to present a credible threat or he would be pointless. Now, people like Galder and Lance would be UNLUCKY to be killed by him, but with yourself the risk is greater.
2. Galder ran away from him, wounded, in story two
3. There are good ways and bad ways to fight him. He knows how to counter many Jedi tactics but he is always struggling to make sure the fight is on HIS terms- most of his 'anti-Jedi' tactics are simply to stop him being killed in two seconds rather than kill YOU fast. So depending on the way you fight, it can be better or worse for you. I know Galder was eager for a second crack at him with lessons learnt
4. If you run he may just follow. That said, I reckon if a Jedi wants to flee it is almost impossible to stop him, unless you are also a Jedi.
5. He is a reucrring character and he will keep on trying to take out players until stopped permanently. But you may think this is not the time
6. You are making a lot of noise...

So... up to you now!

Your pull is strong indeed, and the blaster comes out of his hand. But a strong wire connects it with his hand, and a flick of his wrists activates the retrieval, and the blaster flies back to his hand.

This gives you a pause, but even as he is retrieving, he rotates his hand the other way (now not needing his shiled as he is not firing at you for you to reflect shots back) and a small extension comes out the other side. Out of it, a rocket comes flying towards you...

(BTW, unlike the mad guns in Jedi Knight, these mini-launchers are single-shot only!)

Takuan's face is drastically changed seeing the rocket advancing towards him. The force helps him fsten his thinking and his reactions. Seeing the nearby wall he force pushes him off it propulsing him in the direction of the man. he should be near him now (i dunno how far i was from him). he does indeed consider fleeing by now but he will hang around a few more moments to see if he can crack this one out.
quite an arsenal this man has under his coat he thinks. he's beggining to less and less consider not being notice by the crowd or the jedi. It's mostly a fight for survival but he'll just get the hell out of there if things turn out too complicated. (i assume i didn't get the thermal detonators past the security..i didn't even have them with me, no?)
takuan's main goal now is too ensure galder finishes the race before leting the man attempt a fire on him.
(btw..i liked the cable ideea a lot...)

The thermal detonators would be a tad too much to get in here, yes... though if you had thought oif a way in advance of getting them through that might have been different.

You fly at high speed out of the way of the rocket, which explodes on the wall behind you... oh dear, someone MUST have heard that!

As you fly through the air the man fires quickly at you, missing by inches. As you land on the ground you must have some plan to defend yourself fast as your sabre is not in position! Meanwhile, the man quickly detaches his harness from the wall ready to fire it somewhere else.

I am afraid we have to leave this exciting battle here for today as what is happening elsewhere may change things, but I am sure you will be pleased to know you have saved Galder.

(yay..ok, i'll post here tonight.
let me guess...do mind tricks work? I dunno if i'm powerfull enough to use the force to somehow stick him to a wall and keep him there. or anything related to that)

Mind tricks only work on the weak willed.

You can TRY that sort of thing, perhaps you more than any other template, but it's not very reliable- after all, if you could deal with people that easily, Mace would have done it to Jango.

(ok...how bout that hard push)
AS soon as he lands, Takuan quickly drops and does a foot spin ment to bring the man down. After that he brings his saber in front of his body as fast as he can. A blast might be deflected that way with intention or simply by chance.
(ok...after ur reply takuan flees)

Your kick connects, but while it must have hurt, it doesn't bring him down- he is a pretty tough guy! But your insticnts serve you well, and you deflect his shot. He holds his shield in front of him again to protect himself from your reflected blasts.

He kicks you in the head.

(ouch..how wude)
Takuan tries to minimise the kicks effect appealing the force. he sees no further reason for him to hang around. He assumes galder finished already therefore he should be safe. And further more, he realises he won't be able to kill him today. In the future perhaps he'll have another chance. After the kick, Takuan deflect a few more shots until he sees the short brake between shots that allows him to rollback and get back on his feet. Still facing him, he slowly retreats towards where he came from in the first place. he inds any shot that the man can provide. If he follows his weapons won't be too hard to be noticed by security, that's why he want's to appear as normal of a guy as possible, not raising any suspicions. Except maybe what was he doing there.
For now he slowly backs away rising the distance between the 2 of them.
