Hollywood was shocked last week over the news that Orlando Bloom and Kate Bosworth had split. But Star can now reveal the real reason they split was over Johnny Depp! Sources say that Kate was so frustrated by Orlando's busy schedule that she gave her 28-year-old boyfriend an ultimatum over his work in two Pirates of the Caribbean sequels, saying: "It's Johnny Depp or me!"
According to a source close to Kate, the 22-year-old was devastated that Orlando's film commitments conflicted with her plans for a June wedding.
"Orlando's locked into shooting the sequels from this February through October," says the source. "It completely cancelled out Kate's wedding plans, and she told Orlando she'd waited for him long enough. He was given a choice and he chose Pirates."
Other sources say that the Orlando/ Kate love affair was weakened by Orlando's love of beer soaked nights out on the town. In particular, a recent all-nighter he spent alongside actor Sean Bean pushed Kate over the edge.
"Orlando loves a big night out with the boys, and Bean is a real hell-raiser," says British gossip columnist Leigh Purves. "When they got together in L.A. it turned into a night to remember, and Kate was furious. They'd been drifting apart for weeks, and this was the final straw. Bottom line is that [Kate and Orlando] are both too young to settle down. And Orlando is determined to have some fun before he gets hitched."
