O.k. I can concede on Thing...but DOOM!
Please to elaborate

Doom is evil, however that dosent mean he isnt worthy.

Same thing with guys like Darkseid.

Soooo what exactly does it mean to be "worthy" if evil ppl qualify?

doom and darkseid are not worthy to lift the hammer

To lift the hammer, one must have a mindset similiar to that of a true Asgardian. One must be willing to utterly destroy any evil that threatens Asgard or Midgard, but willing to ignore the evils of men, such as thieves, because such things are beneath them. They must also be a true warrior, willing to fight, even if they have no hope of winning. No villain could wield it, nor could Superman or Thing, because they do not have a compatible mindset. Wonder Woman is iffy, but possibly could lift the hammer.

I thought superman had lifted it...I never read a comic in which it happened, but I see a picture with him holding thors hammer and caps sheild kind of a lot of this forum.

Superman lifted it once in JLA/Avengers#4, however right after that he failed to lift it and Thor explained he was only allowed to lift it the first time because Odin put an emergancey clause in.

So, Superman is not worthy.

Because Cap meets those requirements.

I thought if your not worthy you can't lift it, like some all powerful rule of the universe, no matter how strong you are.

Spiderman should be able to lift it as well.
No he cant he tried once , but could not lift it.

Wonder Woman was able to lift it in 'Marvel vs. DC'.

Magneto has controlled it with his power, stopping it in mid-air...but I'm not sure his powers, (err ex-powers), would be able to lift it off the ground, cause there's no way in hell he's doing it with his hands.

Cap wanted to protect Asgard?!? 🤨

Agreed.

why is it a plot device that doom couldent lift it? i thought it made sense

I'm not sure Spidey would enter a battle with no chance of winning- but I'm sure I'll be told how wrong I am.

As for Magneto- I actually think it's almost plausible that he could lift it. He would defend Asgard or Midgard, but probably for different motives. He could enter a seemeingly hopeless battle. And he doesn't view HIMSELF as a villain. But, I'm just pondering, as I truly have no idea
