Most of the victims we see are mutants captured from other countries. Mostly, X-Force, X-Factor and of course the X-Men.

You never read the X-Tinction Agenda did you?

Fair enough.

Nope I read various X titles that were concerned with Genosha but not X-tinction Agenda. Forgive me Lord for I have sinned.

Is that supposed to be a serious point?

Think about it though. People like to get up in arms about lack of one race or whatnot but ignore the fact that part of the comic world is that heroes/villians aren't even human half the time.

Why would I give a damn about Skrulls and Deviants? What has that got to do with anything. Isnt Marvel comics mostly based on earth, arent most superheroes on earth white...what the hell.....

Because you're not a racist?

Where is most of Marvel based? America. Aren't most people in America white?

Weren't most comic characters created in the 50s or so anyway? Tried and true characters sell comics. Creating a new Asian guy who's been with his Black childhood friend in a polyandrous relationship with five other guys for the last twenty year is just to pease a couple of people is stupid from the standpoint of a company trying to make money.

Not to mention there's ****ing way to please you people. Black characters have to be can't be crimials because thats a stereotype, they can't work inside the law because they're suddenly UncleTom. Asian people can't be geniuses because thats a stereotype, but if you make them stupid it's racist, they can't have an accent because it singles them out, but if they have no accent then it's a plot to destroy the culture. Women can't be femenine because it objectifies them, but if they're not feminine then it's insulting to women.

You want to know why most comic characters are white guys? BECAUSE WHITE PEOPLE SEEM TO HAVE SOMETHING TO DO OTHER THAN COMPAIN!

I mean no offense to anyone, of course, it just gets irritating to watch certain groups turn everything into a race/sex thing.

Whats the problem? I never said that I have a problem with their being a majority of white characters..all I said was that it would be nice if the number of black characters was nearer to 12 or 14 percent. So that deserves me being sworn at?

A: It would be nice if the number of black people in comics was nearer to 12 percent.
B: Theres no ****ing pleasing you people. Rarrggghh!!
A: 😬

I was actually pleased with the number of black characters until a load of mutants (both white and black) got killed off.

😂 Thats hardly what I mean.

Every time new characters get introduced people scrutinize them. The only time no one really looks at every aspect of who a character is to decide if it's PC or not is if the character is white. Comic writers don't need to negative publicity of creating a character that isn't what he/she "should be" which is probably why there are so many characters that aren't even human.

Ok but it would still be nice if there were more black characters. *shrug*

Well that is true, sometimes when decent black characters are made sometimes black people will still complain regardless, that doesnt help the situation at all.....but it would still be nice if we could rise above it.

Thats just downright insulting. Hell the reason why some black people are so cranky is because of what they've been through. Dont get me wrong im not saying that black people are perfect and all white people should burn but hey racism is still alive and well just look at jena 6.

In saying that all people react differently some black people dont mind others do.

I guess I can understand why you say that but yeah that was rather offensive.

Hey, it's no biggie, I just wanted to verify.

Why you being so reasonable? I demand to be insulted! 😂

Does anyone really take race into account when there reading a comic. For the most part I don't think comic book readers associate characters like Wolverine, Batman etc as "That white guy". I agree with the statement that the only time I notice race in a comic is when the character gives noticeable stereotypical references and when its obvious that race was mostly the writers intent to start with. Luke Cage is an example of this.

no, I think most people (black, white, asian, etc) don't notice race when a character is white.

However, if we see an asian or black character, I think most of us notice the race....just because it's pretty rare. Like wow, there's an asian superhero...

Some people do some people dont.

Neither do I. I see them as cool characters and I wish there were more black characters as cool as them.

I dont have a problem with Luke Cage, but sometimes people do try to make him talk "black" and it sounds terrible.

Cause I'm a white guy with a favorite character who isn't?

*points to the Chinese superhero that's his favorite character*

I don't care about race, so I just want to make sure people's info is accurate.

I do agree that it's really about business in the end.

For example, when they created Sentry, they could have made him a blond white guy, a dreadlocked black guy, or an spiked hair asian guy. In their opinion, having the blond white hair guy would probably be most popular with their fans, so they went that route. Nothing wrong with that, just plain ol capitalism.

I think i know what you mean even though i havent read cage.

It prob isnt the fact that he's speaking ebonics that gets you, its just that it doesn't feel authentic and a bit contrived.
