Which is when the show took a nose dive and never recovered.

Nah. it nosedived after Season 2...

Bullshit it did.

OMG, I laughed my ass off when Harrison fell over and we got to see more of his breathtaking acting talent.

OWWWW.....

OWWWWWWWW.......

And then we have Hannah's amazing stupidity in the next scene. facepalm

In other news, Elways such a colossal douche. I knew it sucks she rejected you bro, but get the **** over yourself. 😬

I loved that scene. I had to pause the video I was laughing so much. It looked like a college student took over the directing for a minute. That kid's not as good an actor as his predecessors.

I've been considering rewatching the season after it's done just to count the amount of useless scenes, like of Dexter or Deb or Hannah talking about the plot in the most emotionless, flat ways possible with shot-reverse-shot. Did you see the subtle movements Dexter had in his office talking to Vogel? First he's standing over here having unconvincing "concerns", now he's moved over here having more unconvincing "concerns". Moving around like that is a good way to trick the audience that something interesting is happening.

Or Masuka and his daughter. Is that tangent subplot going to have a point, or is it just to give the impression that Masuka got something to live for after all this time? Or Deb and Quinn and Jamie? Beyond ostensible character resolution, is there an actual point to these little dramas?

And I'm looking forward to the next two episodes. We're going to have four vaguely similar looking guys all in one place: Dexter, Elway, the deputy marshal, and killer Ryan Gosling.

I had an identical reaction.

Best Scene in this season.... Hot Dress 😉

There's been a distinct lack of female nipple from Hannah. She's not as free-wheelin with her boobs as Lila was.

maybe you are not looking close enough.. All comes to he who waits..

What was said earlier for Saxon being a terrible "nemesis" for Dexter is true, his character is too weak or something..

I thought that line that Harry said: "It's also been a while since you put up these pictures" was spot on, Dexter hasn't even been ceremoniously dismembering his kill room victims anymore, I noticed he wraps them & dumps them whole.... maybe its just me but it comes across lazy compared to the old Dexter that stalked & planned everything to a T.

I noticed it too, that line really stuck out. And that kind of change would be great if it was properly showcased. I think the whole point was to develop Dexter's character from an empty, near-emotionless, killer in to a more normal human. They were doing that just fine up until about season 4-5 but then forgot all about it. I've b*tched plenty about his character being boring, dull, joyless, humorless and all together uninteresting for the past 3 seasons, and I think that this version of Dexter is the writing team's god awful "attempt" at making him look more normal and human--the characters themselves seem to think so anyway.

But it's not. He seems more robotic and lifeless than ever, so any changes in his killing and routine come off as A.) out of the blue, B.) contrived, and C.) unconvincing. Instead of the endless subplots about useless and annoying side characters, they should have spent FAR more time properly advancing Dexter's character, a la Walter White. But they didn't. They totally f*cked it up.

And some creativity in the editing, pacing, blocking, and camerawork would have been extremely welcome as well. And the plot. And the dialogue in general. F*ck this show really started to suck.

Much of the "escape to Argentina" crap made me cringe... It doesn't work!

She's a hot Aussie lass..YEAH 😂

We do have beautiful people in our great nation, including myself 🤣

Saxon's line at the gas station said it all: "F*ckin' Dexter."

ARE YOU KIDDING ME DID THEY JUST ****ING LEAVE HIM ALONE AND CONSCIOUS

I give up. Apparently New Man Dexter is a ****ing moron.

"No, I'm not going to kill him, I'm just going to leave him there and assume everything went to plan what?"

I spent the last half of the episode waiting for Deb to die or something. Cha-ching.

Yeah and "new" Dexter is just asking for trouble. Saxon knows a lot about him, does Dexter just expect him to stay quiet in custody? Though given how functionally brain dead Miami Metro is, I doubt they'd even do a double take at whatever he says.

This is officially the absolute worst season.

I think its the worst final season of any show I've ever seen.

Ditto. It's awfulness is compounded by being back-to-back with Breaking Bad, one of the best final seasons ever.

I'm glad is almost over. They royally screwed this show.

So... thoughts on the series finale.

There are shows that just inherently suck. And then there are shows that become Suck, destroyer of content quality. Dexter is the latter.

Y'all remember the end of the Plinkett RotS review? Where Yoda just gives up, Obi-Wan just gives up, and Vader just gives up. And he just stands around on the bridge with Monster Mash waiting for something to happen? That was this episode. The series ended with everyone just giving up, doing nothing, and Dexter running away from everyone and himself by growing a beard and becoming a lumberjack like Wolverine.

I adored Dexter for the longest time. But I feel no guilt or regret in saying that in the end, this show was f*cking atrocious.
