I think he was stated as using 9mm fluted hollowpoint bullets.
A fluted bullet has a weakened jacket to encourage expansion, and hollow point bullets don't penetrate very deep due to said expansion. being a smaller bullet it has increased accuracy but due to the lighter weight also doesn't penetrate as deeply...
So you have THREE different things on the bullet that decreases penetration?

Nah man I don't think there was. The guy said the bullet was inside his brain though, but since its not his head he could be wrong.
He also got Koed by a bullet to the eye in Wolverine issue 9 (volume 2 I think)
