racism in its purest sense is herd mentality and not necessarily rooted in delusions of superiority/inferiority but more of an acknowledgement of difference.
just viewing someone of another color/creed as different, even in an innocent mindset, is a product of that instinct. like, lets say you have a relative who has a big nose. you're mind doesnt (in most cases) partially acknowledge that difference, however prominent it is. it doesnt become a defining factor in that identity. but so many who have a black friend may consciously avoid saying "my friend, who's black...." however that separation is there. so physical differences is not the root, but rather difference in the herd. perhaps in a society so far advanced and diverse that all colors/creeds within truly coexist, as opposed to just living around the same places, the herd mentality will involve to include all of them and disacknowledge those differences entirely. however there will always be outsiders, and always a sense of 'us' and 'them'

To me personally the different coloration of people is just visually so beautiful. The colorfulness of "white" people and the uniform brown tones of "black" people are such diverse and pretty a sight. ๐
so while you celebrate the diversity of people, you also acknowledge it. you must admit that you feel more familiar to people who are more like yourself, even if that familiarity is rooted in boredom and mediocrity.
racism in the evil sense is when people allow this herd mentality to justify their own delusion of superiority, however to single that out as the single cause is naive. it all stems from the simple acknowledgement of me/us and you/them.
whether or not you like/respect/honor/celebrate them is beside the point.
thats my take on it anyway
