Meh, whether I have to slave for everyone or for some "elite" really doesn't matter. I do believe that on the whole people would be worse of in your system though.

Then, again...I know this system wouldn't work. Human beings are drawn towards capitalism...it's an innate desire to be wealthy. In prehistoric times, the hunting and gathering societies eventually gave way to stratification due to their discovery of trade for profit...which gave rise to civilization and then slavery. So, what I mention is more of an ideal way of life...not, how things could actually be. People are naturally greedy..and they'd always want more than the people around them.
