Profanity and manners, just as annoying as political correctness.

Seriously. Does profanity give you less respect and make you a bad person? And does manners make you a good person? Does saying Please really make you well-mannered? Or is it just an excuse to say "I'm well mannered and better than you.". My friends don't care how mannered I am, and they like me a lot. People who do ask me to say Please n shit, actually don't. Something to think about. And profanity isn't really bad, I mean, ifanything it's quite humerous. 🙂

**** no

What the #@!$%&* are you talking about, I never swear.

lookaround

I say please all the time... yes it is manners, though i doubt there's anything about superiority to it... its more a show of gratitude... 😬

It's just common politeness.

It depends on the whole situation. I'll say please when I feel like it, and thank you when I feel like it. I will burp whenever I feel like it and I will fart whenever I feel like it. ✅

One time, when I was ranting for some reason and swearing up a shitstorm, a guy said to me, "STOP ****ING SWEARING!"

I stopped swearing and laughed at him.

They are just words, but as a rule I try to not swear around people or in places that would consider it inappropriate.

Then again, I find religious preaching and ranting offense, but that never stops the holy ranter.

What!? Girls don't fart & burp... Then again, by your location, I can see you're a special breed.

That is nasty.

Like mentioned saying please and thank you is not a way to show off your superiority, it's a way to express gratitude, and respect. I feel like manners are a lost art because I think they definitely benefited society way back when.

I try to mix the two.

"****ing please?"

"Thanks *****."

**** that shit.

It all depends on the reasons for the usage of the words...I don't mind profanity, but I also see that certain expressions show a sort of respect...it all depends on the circumstances.

Oh, and Kelly is nasty.

It just depends on the situation. If you're at a bar or pub watching a sporting event and ramble on with a profanity-laced tirade over how much your team sucks, no one cares. If you're writing an editorial about how social relations have torn your community apart and fill it with f-bombs, no one will take you seriously. Don't swear in front of your girlfriend's parents, and don't NOT swear in front of your best friend after your car's run out of gas. Swearing to yourself can make you feel better as well.

Like everything else in this world, it's subjective to the situation at hand.

That and even if he had made an exception he would have used the correct word....him not being an idiot and all. You fail, old man, you fail.
