Jeez, this thread became a real downer. I'm not giving up on anything, but I'm not expecting anything. The writers know these characters better than anyone else, and they'll do what's best for them. There is just as much a chance of J/E as there is with W/E until the actual movie comes out. Until then, stop depending on other boards and little messages from writers. Of course they're not going to tell all and we've seen how shady they've been answering stuff. It's not over till it's over, and even then there is POTC3, courtesy of the ladies here at the board.

MoviesOnline recently caught up with producer extraordinaire Jerry Bruckheimer at the Los Angeles Press Day for his latest film, the soon-to-be-released "Déjà Vu" starring Denzel Washington, Paula Patton, Val Kilmer, Jim Caviezel, and Adam Goldberg. He updated us on the progress of Pirates 3 ("Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End"😉 which is currently filming as well as the possibility of a Pirates 4 given the incredible success of Pirates 1 and 2. Mr. Bruckheimer is a sensational producer and we really appreciated his time. Here’s what he had to tell us:
Q: What have you seen in the poster for Pirates 3 that’s got you really excited?
JB: We have Chow Yung-Fat which is really interesting and exciting. It’s a thrill to be able to work with him. There’s always new stuff. We’ve got an ending that’s amazing. It’s really a nice ride and it’s still filming.
Q: Is Keith Richards in it?
JB: He’s in it. We finished him. He’s filmed. He’s got a small little cameo.
Q: Is his head okay now?
JB: Apparently. (laughter) He was great to be with. He didn’t want to leave. He was having the best time.
Q: Is there going to be a Pirates 4?
JB: I hope so. I hope so if we could come up with a good story. I think we have a big jump on a story that we’re going to do.
Q: When I interviewed you for the second one, you said, ‘Oh, we don’t know yet.’ With the latest one doing so well, it seems there may be a fourth one coming out?
JB: Yeah, we hope so. We hope so.

Yes! Victory, I found what Terry's quote was in reference to. May I just say that once you learn how to use it, Wordplayer is ingeniously designed!
Here's what one person wrote about what's been going on:
"I must say, this whole POTC thing is really taking up all of my internet time. Yes, I'm such an obsessed fangirl. Just came back from KTTC. Yes, it was crazy. I'm a huge Sparrabeth shipper and come May and my prayers, compulsive speculation and have come to a cheesy Will/Liz ending, I will be absolutely livid. (That's the thing about us JE shippers, we are a lot more passionate than the WE shippers and we'll be the ones in the theater with veggies in hand if we don't get what we want).
The interesting thing is, most people who are fascinated with the Jack/Liz chemistry don't expect, or even want them to get married. They would be extremely happy if Liz didn't marry the whelp and sailed off with Jack. Or even if they admitted their feelings for eachother, but couldn't be together. AWE concluding with a WE wedding would be the worst possible scenerio as far as we're concerned.
However, I have more confidence in the writers than some. A WE wedding would be very cliche and make all of the character development in DMC pointless. I believe we will get a very interesting --and origional ending.
Be careful. There are more of us than you may realize.

Well, they're shooting the ending right now over in Hangar nine, so I guess it's set in stone!
For goodness sakes, he's being mildly sarcastic in my opinion. There's nothing to get worked up about. They've created the scenario, there will be a satisfactory resolution.
Honestly, all the fuss this one little quote created, and it wasn't even a negative response. All he's saying is that the conclusion is being shot, there's nothing that's going to change about it, but he's essentially in a very sardonic manner, putting this cheeky lass in her place by saying that they know how many people ship J/E or W/E. They've done something with the ending that's satisfying for all.
Can we all go back to our lives now that the sky is no longer falling?
I think they've cooked up a fantastic ending for all involved, other wise Terry would not be so smug in this post.
And I don't know how it was that they could make both sides happy. I lack Ted and Terry's singular genius, so I can't pretend to know what they've created.
Obviously, there will be people who will walk out of the theater disappointed. That's the nature of the game when you're dealing with a triangle. But there are any number of satisfying conclusions that I can think of. I'll try to play both sides to give some examples.
Obviously, with J/E they don't have to be together for it to be satisfying, just so long as it's implied they'll reunite one day.
If it's a W/E ending, I wouldn't mind seeing W/E together in some way, but Jack making that painful sacrifice of giving up what he wants most for the good of the cause.
I think the best ending that I can think of is that Elizabeth ends up alone, as Governor perhaps, and there fore is responsible for protecting Jack and piracy....And subsequently both men that she loved.
There are any number of options that would include both sides of the triangle, and would allow for a somewhat satisfying conclusion.
I want to reiterate that he's not implying W/E, or J/E in this quote. If you really read it with the spirit in which it's intended, it's almost a taunt back at the girl who wrote what she wrote. She was out of line, and vaguely inappropriate. I'm actually embarassed that she was bold enough to write what she did to the writers. She essentially disgraced a lot of J/E shippers.
All he was saying about the fact that they're shooting the ending is that the writers are satisfied with it. And I think that we can trust in that. They're not stupid men--they've proved that more than once and I hate that so many people write into Wordplayer and write about how it is they don't know what they're doing.
The way I see it, Ted and Terry are a little bit like Jack. You have to look at their actions versus their words. Yes, the words are a jumble of clues for both ships, but most of their writings thus far have been in defense of the J/E aspect of the triangle. We have trust that they've written the best ending they possibly could that makes sense with where they've taken the story thus far. The characters are their creations, and we all know they care about them as much as they do.
They won't do something that is extreme or detrimental unless that is where the story leads in AWE.
Keep the faith, it's not over until it's over.

I would be very happy if Liz decides to go on her own, therefore that would give us hope for a reunion in another movie.
But if she marries Will and have a happily ever ending I would be extremely disappointed. I want to see something exciting happening. Something that it wasn't never expected.

That's what I've been saying! I just distrust most internet resources on things like this. This is a movie that begs to have rumors circulating about it. As an experiment, I should start a fake one and see how long this and other boards go into a panic about it. What should it be?

i actually did that once, on another site, and the rumor is still going around there and they think its real. it was pretty funny. i felt kinda bad, but it was worth it to see everyone flip out. giggle. like you said, with all the crazy rumors going around, i figured the one i made up fit into the mix well. lol.

its true, the writers are quite smug, they dont really seem nervous about it... so it must be amazing.

I don't feel like arguing anything related to POTC 3. E/W are both going to die. There you go, that is the huge cliffhanger. They are both turning in to fish face.
