That film is so underrated...

I think at one point there were white people in the black panthers. I saw a program on it where this white guy and black guy got arrested by the FBI

What?

Every black person I've ever met was racist. And in NYC, I meet alot of black folk.

Something that always surprised me with black people I see on TV in the US and Turkish and Moroccan people I see here they are far more racists then most white people. But I think that's probably a defense meganism, at least at first then other people take over and soon you'll have a situation where whites can't be racists and others can. And then you will have whites that become racists because of that and think that the other colors get to many advantages, it's an endless circle.

don't hate to tell me, it's true. We're talking about modern Black Power and White Power

Then I gladly tell you that "modern" white/black power groups are both perceived as racist.

Power to the People...that's all I have to say.

Black Power actually came from the Black Panthers, who were just as racist as the KKK

Odd. I don't recall any panthers having the backing of their government to segregate U.S. citizens based on race or Black panthers commiting mass lynchings against whites. The B-Panthers may have been racists by your view but the K.K.K. were/are hardcore racist.

If i see a black guy tell another black guy black power, i'd would think they're cool as hell. But if i see two whites doing it, lol i'm sorry im gonna think "racism".

I don't see why you need to make threads about your racially-motivated warped perception of social interaction. 😬

Black Power was also brought on by Black Panthers who brought free school breakfasts to public schools through lobbying. "Children can't learn when they are hungry" was their arguement. They won. 🙂

I can't see why that would be "cool" but...both are a racist as each other...and besides, white people actually have a right to shout "White Power" as it is the white people in power...

I guess because "Black Power" is more about a bond pride in ones own culture and identity in a positive way and "White Power" deals with imperial supremecy and hatred based on skin color, maybe?

Does someone have any idea as to why one is considered racist and the other one isn't?

Because now adays everything is consider racist whatever you do.No thanks to the Dems!jm 😠

The 2 terms have very meanings and connotations.

"Black power!" = "We shall overcome, my brothers and sisters!"

"White power!" = "The Klan's gettin' bigger, aren't you glad you're not a ******!"

😂

Anyone who complains about reverse-racism is off thier rocker.

the black panthers actually started out ok, when they were needed, when they were necessary, the same thing for the nation of islam cuz it was to smash out against the the WP groups and the corrupt govt. that aided and abetted them. the same racist govt. that didnt allow us to vote, or ride on the same bus, or go to the same schools, or get affordable insurance, both for health and home ownership... not to mention fair wages, and high profile jobs that black ppl were qualified for.

thats why there had to be things like fair housing act, affirmative action to name a few not just for blacks but for all minorites, which ironically despite all the debates over whter or not it should continue stats show that its white women who actually benefit from affirmative action the most😄 so thats where the black panthers came in... after the murder of emmett till, and the whole Rosa Parks incident the civil rights movement was in full swing, and there were a lot of angry young black youth who werent trying to hear none of that non violence talk that MLK was spewing, they adopted the Malcom X "by any means necessary" motto.

that was cool for back then, now im the first to admit that things are far from perfect here in america, with regards to race relations, but they arent even 1/100th as bad as it was then. sometimes i shudder to think that my dad is actually old enuff to have gotten lynched too in a time when it was almost certain the the perpetrators would get away with it. but like i saod things are ok now, but evertime i see the Black Panthers or the Nation anywhere these f ****ing idiots are going on about Jews and gay ppl, and racial purity and dominance and of course how much white ppl are devils... the funny thing is nowadays if the BP, nation of ISlam, and the various white power groups actually looked at themselves they'd be surprised to see how much they had in common

-end of rant

Probably because white people in history have never really been persecuted, not only that "black power" is not trying to lynch white people.

Go read and come back to this thread. You are fired.

Thats what I used to think I got schooled on Irish history.....but from my understanding the Irish seem to be the exception.

Because most Black folk all have some degree of an inferiority complex and we take things the wrong way, and even when we don't take it wrong we expect others to walk on eggshells around us when speaking about race.

It's stupid but 400 years of slavery will do that.
