Why is "White Power" percieved as racist but "Black Power" isn't?

Odd. I don't recall any panthers having the backing of their government to segregate U.S. citizens based on race or Black panthers commiting mass lynchings against whites. The B-Panthers may have been racists by your view but the K.K.K. were/are hardcore racist.

If i see a black guy tell another black guy black power, i'd would think they're cool as hell. But if i see two whites doing it, lol i'm sorry im gonna think "racism".

All I said was that the Black Panthers were just as racist as the KKK, I wasn't referencing whether one had government back and the other hadn't.

Stop pulling arguments out of your ass, m'kay?

There are still plenty of black racists out there.

lol at anyone who fools themselves into believing that the Panthers aren't a bunch of racist douchebags. Those idiots are nearly all addicted to crack and have several felonies.

But they're so "cool"!

There is very little difference between the two. Both call for one ehtnic group to dominate others. The guys who followed Malcom X called for blacks to dominate the social and political process in the United States.

There is a big difference between the two. The KKK's goal was to persecute blacks and either kill them or send them back to Africa. The Black Panther's goal was to end the oppression of African Americans under the White American government.
Though the organization's theories changed a great deal through it's existance its ultimate goal was never to rid the world of White people.

Because most Black folk all have some degree of an inferiority complex and we take things the wrong way, and even when we don't take it wrong we expect others to walk on eggshells around us when speaking about race.

It's stupid but 400 years of slavery will do that.

Honest point.

they are just raises I think I spelled raises wrong

F*** that slavery thing.
GET OVER IT!
Most people get f**ked on a daily basis.
Hey for a FACT most of the black people i have met as far as i know dont give a sh1t about slavery....my ex gf being one of them.
They are more interested in clothes, mobile phones and sneakers.
The blacks who harp on about slavery all the time are the ones who can afford to.
THAT sounds racist but it aint.
As for this one sided racist thing....visit Oldham in the Uk - particularly Glodwick-and HAVE A NICE DAY.
No go areas for whites and the majority of race hate crime is on whitey..
The majority of people who talk about unity and all that crap do so from the comfort of their middle class houses.....go to a working class area and ask the man on the street about racism and youll get something totally different.http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/today/reports/archive/politics/oldham1.shtml
Black history month.................dude the kids aint interested.

I guess because "Black Power" is more about a bond pride in ones own culture and identity in a positive way and "White Power" deals with imperial supremecy and hatred based on skin color, maybe?

Does someone have any idea as to why one is considered racist and the other one isn't?

I think Cause whites are already in power and blacks are not. Maybe if the events in the pass was done differently. White power wouldn't be looked at as being racist.

🤨 ....Bruv why are you swearing at me? You are going off on a tagent. All long pig said was some black people are sensitive about race. This does not mean that all black people are sensitive about race and it doesnt mean there are no racist black people.

So I dont know why you are swearing at me and telling me about Oldham?????

because not being able to spell is a good way to send the wrong message across... if you want the right message, then spell right

*sign* yes I think we should and I'm not a shame of it because this is who I am okay and I don't go to spell-checker because I want people to tell me if or if not I spell it or not because that is how I learn PERIOD
SO END OF THIS ARGUMENT

who are you to say someone is not interested.it takes an fool to fall in the same trap twice so all black history month and talk about slavery is to make sure this never happens agian.

no blacks where not the only ones in history to become slavys people.it happen in the bible.look at what happen to the jews, and black where not the only slavys, lation's where also.so what we need to do is stop focusing on just the black and white part,if we are ever to move foward as humans(not one nation but the world) stop with this whole race thing.try to help those souls that feel that on race should be in power.

sorry for jumping off topic.
human power 😆

Interesting points all round.

A word on any slavery horror of the past being used as a credit card to legitimise segregationist thinking in the present...

I can't think of any one person who lived to 400 yrs.

Anyone care to name one...?

Just one will do....

Now, when you have done that, then we can move onto detailing where and when they were a slave and how I or anyone I know in the modern age enslaved them, personally.

Then after that I'll be able to accept that the past is a valid reason to perpetuate more feelings of seperation from anybody in the now.

Now speaking as an Irish/Pol/Jewish hybridy type guy originating from several of the other most persecuted races on earth, I'd like to acknowledge that some people in the past had done bad things in the past and that those responsible died a fair old while before we were even born-and may they rot in hell for what THEY did - and move on to the now and have some harmony with folks now.

I wouldn't feel that Irish/Pol/Jew history month would be an effective means of feeling truelt one with the rest of the world... I'd feel patronised by the existance of such a thing.

I hear you on the education element. So is learning this at school not enough for some people...?

I personally have never enslaved anyone and refuse to be thought of as someone who did at any time.

Regardless of ethnicity, if you're being cool, you're cool.

If you are acting like an an ass, you're an ass.

Hence that boy Damilola Taylor -getting stabbed with a bottle and left to bleed to death makes me saddened and angry,
yet I hope that Robert Mugabi is ripped apart by lions while still breathing, while the families of those he had mass-murdered/is still murdering at present get to pour salt into his open wounds as he dies.

Its an individual thing.

And yes I agree: F*** the KKK.

And F*** all those who would attempt to be so short sighted as to go about their days constantly trying to judge or put down whole races for any historic reason.

Again, its seems like it should be an individual thing.

Like others have said: Human power.

Thanks for reading through this, if you have, and I trust this was read by you all in the best way- the way that it was meant to be.

Peace. (Except to Mugabi, obviously...)

I can't say I know anyone who was alive 400 years ago, but I can read about them and their struggle. I can listen to my grandmother tell tales of her struggle as well. It's changed 1000% from then to now but to expect the wounds to be completely healed psychologically is a bit naive.

Like it or not, we're still owed a lot. I don't want 40 acres and a mule, just give us a god damned apology like Americans gave the Chinese and the Native Americans. Hell, America is allowing Mexicans free run and they won't even give us a "Sorry, man."? **** that, how can we not be pissed off just a little?

Seems fair to me. Im actually African so my ancestors actually were not slaves, but obvoulsy I must have had relatives who were, so it still hurts. It is important to remember that Africans were selling Africans, when it comes down to it its not a racial problem its human.
