As the most powerful evangelical pastor in the country, perhaps he should have reconsidered publicly denouncing homosexuality and advocating for a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages since he was taking methamphetamines and having sex with a male prostitute for the past three years. He brought this on himself.

Not really. Since moral superiorly is a relative concept - liberals actually do have "morals" - just different ones from conservatives (and to be honest more then a couple that are the same, if expressed differently.) Whether they are superior or not is purely subjective.

Ted Haggard is a disgrace, and while forgiveable by God (for his hypocrisy and lies)... he is no position to lead anybody in spiritual things.

Not even because he's gay (or straight, depending on when you ask him), although that would give most church leaders pause, but because he's supposed to be in a committed relationship with his wife and was cheating on her.

from a political point of view, liberals actually follow democratic principles better than conservatives do, based on their stances on issues.
