i get the feeling that if they did put a jack/liz ending on the dvd (as in alternative ending) then the writers and directors will be sure that the battle between ships would never end...lol.

the story needs closure, and they chose willabeth as that closure....which is just crap because for me willabeth has never worked lol.

so if they did an alternative ending, i think they would probably be going back on all the closure they tried to give us 🙂

I will be pissed if they added a J/E ending in the DVD as alternate.

But, what will make me piss is the thought of why they didn't add it to the movie.

Have you read the reviews and criticts? No one cared for EW. They thought they pushed so hard in trying to make EW some chemistry.

All the reviewers say the same. Even in the Rolling Stones magazine 😄

And in a newspaper review the reviewer wanted to know where the love triangle had gone...

I know. Not to point fingers, but the the biggest problem of the movie was the editing. They cut out the wrong shit.

Plus, I believe there was a lack of team work.

TnT, Gore, and Johnny were having some disagreements. Even Jerry B.

unfornately T.Maria you´re right it needs closure and it´s W/L god how i hate to think about it -yes it could have been JL and it´s w/l that´s annoying really hah 😄 but if they put JL ending..generally they would have to change some things in the whole movie probably to have this JL ending fits...
but still there´s a chance at least (i think quite big chance) that we´ll get to see all beautiful JL scenes🙂

...and Mina yes i read some critics as well...and a lot of people say w/l was like forced ...yes and i thought, i was almost convinced, that critics won´t be so good with the ending....but we all knew it...and i don´t know why but i think if it was JL ending, almost everyone would be happy with it and i know that willabethers wouldn´t be so happy but they wouldn´t be so heartbroken like we were either...
but well...i respect gore´s or who´s choice even though i don´t agree with it...

I know the junior novel itself shows more tension between Jack and Elizabeth than in the film.

The film looked to be tension between Will and Elizabeth. At leaste, they tried, ha.

ok, admittedly my friends ARE a little crazy, but even THEY weren't happy with the ending because they didnt think she should have ended with Will...

P.S - jenny is a simple girl who hasnt seen the first two pirates movies...

and yet even SHE said that 'the looks' they were giving eachother said alot....at the brethren court and when they flew into the air, especially lol 🙂

Mina, I actually was talking about J/E in my last comment. Did you bother to read it? You didn't comment on it.

But since we're talking about audience responses and reviewers...

Lots of happy sighs during W/E scenes, lots of hoots and hollers when Will proposed, and even a week after the film has been out, people still cheer, clap and applaud it when they are officially married.

As for professional reviewers, most of them don't like AWE, period. I don't think a J/E wedding would have saved the film for them. They just hated all the plot lines, hated the humor, hated the darkness, blah blah.

So why do I care about what they say about chemistry about anyone? They're people who can't act who write (usually) bitter reviews about people who CAN act. Their opinion does not make something more 'right' or 'wrong'.

Now I'll ask again; since Elizabeth rejects Jack in the AWE novel, does that make you feel better or worse for Jack? And how do you think it makes it better for Sparrabeth?

Now, to your question.

It does make it better for Sparrabeth. It's a very sweet ending and it's better than the movie.

Jack made one last attempt. He pretty much knows what the response will be.

It's really about responsibility and the choices you make. What a man can do and what a man can't do. They both can't act on a selfish impulse because Barnacle Boy is immortal now and yada yada.

But there are a lot of plot holes in this movie.

But the book says that Elizabeth's heart will always belong to Will and Jack's heart will always belong to the Pearl.

I'm trying to understand how this is good for your ship. I'm not bashing, I'm not trying to argue exactly, but I am challenging your idea that you can safely say that this scene is strictly and comfortably Sparrabeth in the sense that it opens doors for J/E or that it shows the depth of their love.
