Miz WilloftheWisp, it was an AWESOME bit of knowledge. I was stoked to know how bright and erudite all the piratistas are--you and Surreal44 mixed the ingredients just right! You have the clear mind for this type of endeavor, Imp PiDi. Pick your poison and hoist your colours!!

And this in a nutshell is why pirate works for me--you don't get where you're going without the bold foray, no swash, no buckle. I love how it feels to know I have my hat on, my sword at hand, sea legs moving me safely abovedecks, no matter the weather, and of course, the eye of the Captain, Captain Jack Sparrow as he hands off the bottle of rum to a kindred spirit. (cos when folks see me, they think I'm just this little old dumpling woman--no idea how close they are to danger, you know.) Yoho, a pirate's life for me. 'Night peas, sweet dreams of whomever suits your piratical fancy.

"no swash, no buckle"--- hahahaha! i remember when the first pirates film came out i was living out west and there was this fantastic review that said something like, "Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom unbuckle their swash..." and from that moment on, i was hooked. i just love that phrase, it never ceases to amuse me.

Tex, may I say I don't know if you're a sparrabether or a willabether or what, and I'm happy I don't know. You love everyone and are always pleasant and so funny. I award you the sparrabeth Team Spirit award...unless sparrabeth doesn't do anything for you. Basically, it's a little trophy that has Jack holding his sword above his head with both arms as Liz has one arm around his leg and another gripping a pistol, much like the old Star Wars VHS designs. Just replace Jack with Will if you're willabeth. Either way, I appreciate your always positive outlook.

Well, slap me thrice and hand me to my mama!! Miz WilloftheWisp, I accept this lovely award and say I'm my daddy's child. He was a bug, loved most everybody, could worry the horns off a billy goat and just wanted to know more about any and everything to feed his photographic memory. I'm touched that you know I enter these accords with a good heart. Life is short means a great deal to me. Now, that I play here with y'all, I say again life is short, but so so so very sweet. And just full of surprizes!!

I got the amusing and joy part--you're on your own from there. I didn't know we were underpinning and semiotics-ing. I'm just glad you're meaningfully essaying. We (all your beloved pirate tias (aunties) really are nosy and hope to see at least bits of the cool stuff you write, if it pleases you of course. night, peas, this tiny Tia Tex stayed up way too late last night, now I'm nodding.

oh, by the by, Miz Zac Depp, even if I live to be 112 life will be too short. In my world, this life is just one turn on the Great Mandala, so it may seem long, but it's just a blink darlin--I look in the mirror now and wonder where and when the young woman went--like when you're 5 and Christmas takes for-ev-er. Now, it's barely a head shake and it's here again. So, it's long some days I suppose...I've got at least 8 more years.

OMG Diva you can write about Sparrabeth? I would give my right hand for that...do us proud. I 've noticed that analyzing Pirates has helped me with English and essays too. 😄

I'm glad that you're writing a fic and I can't wait to read it...I started writing the beginning of summer and I love the great challenge...I hope you have fun with it and share it soon

I'm anxious to read your essay. Please, oh please post it when you're finished. The analytical eye (cough, me, cough) loves reading that kind of thing. It will be so interesting to see what points you highlight and your interpretation. Good luck! If you want someone to help you edit it, I'd be filthy rich off of all the papers I've edited if I charged nickels. We're all behind you!

I agree..the type of love that Will and Elizabeth have will soon grow boring and tiresome......one must have lust and passion before love..trust me.......and knowing Elizabeth...she needs passion and adventure....Will walks a straight and narrow path and she would soon tire of that lifestyle....how can we really believe that Elizabeth waits around for 10 years on that stupid island......if there never is a POTC4, then I will forever envision that Jack's compass leads him back to shipwreck cove, Elizabeth takes off with Jack on the Empress in search of the the fountain of youth..and throughout their year of adventure they finally come together and admit their love...and somewhere somehow along the way they are visisted by will...he sees how happy liz is and sets her free...for he has found happiness and satisfaction in his new career (ferrying lost souls) and hanging out with his dear old dad......and Liz and Jack consumate their passionate love...and voila...have a son...who sings there song and wears hats like Jack.......
