Miz Kateloves, the video is excellent in the use of clips from who knows or cares where. They really did a very fine transition on the whole--I am struck again by the stunt double's fabulous dive--it's such a fine Burt Lancaster (Crimson Pirate) moment. Crimson Pirate was the first movie I ever saw that inspired those 'feelings' we all love to experience--had no clue, just knew I loved the movie. I'm so the sucker for the acrobatics of the old movies. You know it's going to be alright when the skinny box movie comes out. Innit? At this point just lie to me? Please?
A new day and here we go again. Take all that you can (put up with) and give nothing back.

Thanks so much, savvysparrow. You're so sweet. But I think I'll try using Paint. I like to experiment and learn along the way. Thanks once again.
The lyrics to that bird song are very touching. Have you gals seen the video for "Almost Lover". The lyrics are also very touching and tells so much about Sparrabeth.
The AWE dvd is already out in my country but I won't be getting it 'cos I just can't stand torturing myself again.
Piratediva, are you really sure about POTC 4? I really hope there's one in 2009/10 'cos even Terminator will have a T4, with the gorgeous Christian Bale in it!!!
I'm not sure when I will get the AWE DVD...maybe for Christmas. I'm not really looking forward to seeing it because of the movie itself..but I am looking forward to seeing Johnny as Jack Sparrow.......I know, that goodbye scene is such a heartbreaker...why are those two always saying goodbye...did you guys notice that trend...they say goodbye in movie one, movie two and movie three! How many times is that woman going to let that man walk out of her life? Me? I would have jumped in after him when he went over the wall of the fort in POTC 1 and been like "hey, Jack, mind if I join you on some more wild and crazy adventures, cus this town of Port Royal is a bit on the boring side and if I have to stay here with that Blacksmith I'm sure I'll die of boredom....please let me come with you!"

Alright, can I just reiterate how inevitable it is that Elizabeth will one day wake up in the arms of Captain Jack Sparrow? It's inevitable I tell you.
"Is Elizabeth going to wait for Will?" "True love never dies, but their story is yet to be told"
Sure, true love never dies. But lust doesn't disappear in the wink of an eye either. 😉
Oh my dearest Kate..I love that picture of Jack..so raw and sexy....I truly believe in my heart of hearts that Jack and Liz reunite. As I've said before....by all points and purposes Will is dead, he is immortal....Lizzy is a widow....sure Will gets to come on land once every ten years...but only for a visit....Liz and Jack have every day on earth...
So it took me like 5 hours to see everything on the 2 disc DVD (including the movie) ya no commentary....but I was completely surprised to see that there were deleted scenes and I really have to say I trully enjoyed watching the scene with Jack and Barbossa fighting over the helm....that made my day!! lol
Johnny is just too adorable I love him to bits!!
The movie is beautiful, it really is....Jack i enjoyed him more than ever, and that scene when Davy stabbs Will the reaction on Jacks face got to me more than ever! I just love how u can literally see like 50 emotions go through his face....its heart wrentching!
But again the movie is just soooooo frustrating!!! Jack and Liz belong together!
also quick question....in the movie its said that they havent had a King since the first Bretheren Court...does anyone know what happened to said King?
well there is 2 deleted scenes, Anatomy of the Malestorm, the focus on Hans Zimmer and his music, the Hoist the Colors Theme background, then they have segments focusing on Masters of Design such as the artist who did the Codex Book, the Map, Costume, How the created the creatures (davy and his crew), how they created Signapore, they also have a segment focusing on Jack and Teague where they interview Johnny and Keith, they focus on Chow Yun Fat and they also give a little history on all the Pirate Lords (like which ocean they run, what the've stolen, who they have beef with, and what there Piece of Eight is) i think that is pretty much it!
but u know what I find interesting....that in the O&A they said Liz and Will's story has yet to be told and in the bonus material on the DVD when they give you info on Elizabeth Swan the King towards the end they say "her stories have not yet been written and a lot of her stories have yet to be told" somthing along those lines....but do ya'll think that Disney is trying to imply something? like a spin off or something?
okay guys, I've just put myself through the trauma of watching AWE in its entirety despite lots of looming work. i'm sure you are sick to death of my rants, opinions, and complaining, so if that be the case, skip the following! 🙂
1. i don't actually hate the movie. I really like the movie. i hate the ENDING. Massively. With a passion. If I stop it right before the last battle, I love it.
2. Jack and Liz definitely slept together. This is my new theory, born not of pure sparrabeth disappointment of delusion, but of trying to piece together certain glaring plotholes in some way that makes sense. WHY, i kept asking myself, did Elizabeth not tell Will everything from the beginning (when Will himself had tried to kill Jack multiple times, and is clearly still in love with her despite thinking she had cheated on him) and THEN blow him off when he tries to MAKE UP with her AFTER he finds out? 1 simple reason, mates. She still thinks she might have feelings for Jack at this point. She's confused about her own feelings--- still. She NEEDS to see Jack, be around him, to determine what her feelings for him are and what her future with Will may or may not now look like. It's the only explanation for the way she deals with Will during the whole movie.
Of course, Jack's chilly greeting and the complications of all the betrayals more or less make that impossible.
NOW... I think she finally makes up her mind after seeing Bootstrap. Hearing about Will's promise to his father, and that tragic-ness, and then watching James die, I think rope her back into her commitment to Will, to look after him, to save him, and help him fulfill his promise of freeing his father.
So... this is where the gratuitous part of my theory comes in--- Shipwreck Cove. Jack votes her pirate king... despite their having no resolution up to this point. Why? Negotiations. What happens in between the pirate lords meeting and the battle the next morning? Methinks Lizzie steps into her pirate identity fully, and none the worse for, as T and T clearly state many times, "being the only true pirate in the series" the woman who "outpirates all of them". She has to negotiate with Jack and Jack has to negotiate with her--- because Will isn't there, and Elizabeth has to secure his safety as best she can, while solidifying her commitment to Will by determining, once and for all, her true feelings for Jack. So take Willo's brilliant closure scene, and instead of a chaste kiss and a sweet goodbye, throw in a scene full of negotiations as complicated as a chess-game, including but not limited to who will stab the heart, how Jack will secure Will's freedom from the endeavor, what plans Elizabeth must make as pirate-king, and many promises from both parties as to what they will or won't do in case of certain events the next day, and end that with a good old fashioned Mask of Zorro inspired love-scene, followed by two people who have clearly sated their lust, and go back to good-humored bickering constantly, that same deep respect and connection, but with a clear understanding that Elizabeth has made her choice.
That, in my mind, (or something close to that) could be the only thing to explain the ease of transactions the next day, and the palpable tension between Liz and Jack, and then the actions of Jack later on. He delays stabbing the heart when he could do it (before Will has been stabbed)--- Pointedly delays. Why? Why indeed. And why shouldn't Elizabeth be the pirate she is?
Because, all through the movie references to Calypso's infidelity are trumped up when Will is around. T and T were mum on the subject of whether Liz would wait for him (though Disney wanted us to think so) and its nuts to ask people to believe once every ten years is a marriage. Sure, its all grand epic true love, worthy of a grand epic movie, but they are PIRATES and its a SUMMER ACTION FLICK. And Elizabeth has been pretty hard up all three films, really angsty to "get married" and all that entails. And that's it for her? Yeah I'm so sure.
Hahahaha okay that's my rant for the evening. Done and done. 🙂 And that IS an exceptionally hot picture of Jack.
Kate, you've made some excellent points all around, well done!
Okay, just watched the DVD and I've got a few short thoughts and random things...
I'd forgotten how much tension there was between Will and lizzie througout the entire movie until the Maelstrom hits, then they make that spontaneous decision to get married - gah. You can totally feel the UST between Jack and Lizzie, all there is that is unsaid between the two, the stolen glances, that need for forgiveness/approval that has always seemed to be between them.
It about killed me to watch the ending too, Kate. It was worse this time around, because I've pretty much discovered that my mother is a willabether (though she claims to be neutral) - she says she didn't think Elizabeth loved Jack at all, that she loved Will (which in a way is true, but I still think that Elizabeth loved Jack too) and mentioned how much the kid looked like the whelp *grumble* - made it rather hard to picture a fictional sparrabeth ending in my mind. I seriously need to read some good fanfic now to clear my head of all the whelpabeth sadness 🙁
I don't have DVD yet, sadly, I must ask for it as a christmas gift, though I think I'll get pirated version - just movie, no deleted scenes...
but the kid, he doesn't look like Will, look at young Will, he has big teeth, big mouth and looks strange... and doesn't have feelings in a way (it's ok, my name is ES. Will Turner) this kid seems completely different
Yeah, the kid doesn't look like Will or Jack. He looks like Elizabeth. In fact, he looks more like her than she did at that age...ha ha to little Elizabeth with the American accent. You could always go with the Star Wars theory that the little kid really has no father and "the Force" spawned him on its own, implying the little kid will really take after Liz and outpirate the woman who outpirated all the rest.
Kate, although I don't really agree with what you're saying, I think you need to expand it. Back on the Phantom forum (I know you're tired of hearing about it), this girl came up with the "hidden plot." a whole analysis of every scene, complete with photos, somehow proving that Christine actually does pick the Phantom at the end. I think you should do that with Liz/Jack. They're a lot of fun to read whether you believe them or not, and it's always fun to watch a movie in a different way. I think that would be great for a lot of sparrabethers and would either blow willabethers' minds or excite their wrath. Either way, I'm up for reading it.
Kate...I believe in you girl! And I can tell you that in my heart of hearts and in my mind...I truly truly believe that Jack and Elizabeth get together. Why else would that little boy stand there on that cliff singing their song and wearing a replica of Jack's hat......I'm telling you...the more I think about it the more I'm convinced that it was Ted and Terry's way of letting us Sparrabethers' know they had not forgot about us......they know how analytical we are and how deep we dig to look for answers........I think what happens during the unknown ten years...just a few weeks after Will goes to the great beyond..he somehow gets message to Lizzy that it's okay for her to go on with her life....he lets her know that he'll be okay, that she no longer has to worry about him, or to look after him...that he has found his true destiny....so she goes in search of Jack.....and finds him on yet another adventure...searching for the Fountain of Youth without the Pearl!......We can all imagine what will happen next......
I've yet to even buy the DVD...I only saw the movie that one time in the theatre.....a day that left me so depressed I have yet to step foot into a theatre again....although I'm wanting to this month...to see a little muscial I've heart rumor about.....but it's kind of gory and bloody but there's a really hot and sexy man in it...with the initials J. D.
