oh guys....again i have to ask why on earth does Jack and Elizabeths love have to be so dam tragic!

honestly I think it was a huge mistake on Will's part to devirginize Elizabeth right when he was about to embark on a 10 year hiatus. Now that she knows what Sex feels like do u think she is gonna be able to stop herself when Jack pays her a visit and her needy-Deseprate Housewife side comes out of her? I mean how can u miss something u've never felt right? lol....but come to think of it...maybe Will knew it too and figured he might as well be the one to do it because if not it was a given she would have gone looking for Jack!! lol

maybe it won't be Jack, but my bet is on Elizabeth is going to mess around with someone. She's passionate, she's impulsive, and she's rapidly losing her morals.

Doesn't mean on any count she'll stop loving Will or stop being faithful to him in her heart, but come on. This is the caribbean and life goes on.

i think i see what they were trying to do with Jack's ending in AWE (which would have worked better if they had planned AWE better on most levels)---- Jack is sailing away; he sailed into this one single story at the beginning of cotbp, and we didn't know where he was coming from or what, and he sort of got entangled in all these lives and adventures, and then by the end of AWE, he was sailing out of that adventure, away from all those lives and stories, and towards something new or different. similar, i suppose, to his connection to Elizabeth... fate or destiny or whatever, he was there when she fell, he saved her life, allowing himself to become involved, but then, when things were finally settled for her (at the end of AWE) and he had saved her life like 16 million times, and basically gotten more involved than he ever wanted to probably, he sends her off to her honeymoon and sails away, his work there accomplished. so his feelings are involved, but ultimately, he's a wanderer, and a guy (meaning he can compartmentalize) so i don't doubt he'll sail away and find plenty of things to be happy about in life.

I agree with you, kate. But I'd like to add that Jack didn't go away unchanged after this little adventure. Some part of him was definitely affected and I think he went away a little wiser. This would stay with him and manifest itself in his thoughts and actions in future POTC films, especially his relationships with people. What if there was another love interest? Would he remember Lizzy?

I think if Jack found someone else he couldn't help but compare this new girl to Lizzie. Keep in mind, he might have had a very passionate affair with someone before he even met Liz and may have compared Liz to that woman, too. We don't really know, but my assumption is that he has a special place in his heart for Liz and she's not going anywhere, even if he finds someone else to love. Life goes on, yeah, and I'm not saying he should call out Liz's name in bed when he's with his other woman or anything like that, but he can't forget Liz. That's already been shown at the beginning of DMC. A year goes by between COTBP and DMC. Don't you think Jack gets a lot in the span of a year? He's Captain Jack Sparrow! He has women falling all over him, probably a fan club somewhere among the strumpets. I think if he does fall in love with another woman, though, yes, that woman will take priority and his love for Liz will shift and settle into something else but will still be there.

Well...I do agree Jack is a strong and resiliant soul...but it doesn't mean he is immune to heartbreak...but I believe he will make the best of things. Jack has a positive attitude and as Mr. Gibbs says "We mustn' wallow in our grief"......

Sure Jack wants booze and sailing...never mind his desire to outfox death, have the ship that is rightfully his, live up to his goals to be as heartless a pirate as Barbossa, and (anti-Jack fans will disagree with me here) protect Will and Liz. He cares about both those kids and that is obviously one of his goals because even though he occasionally uses them (and they use him) he always avoids putting them in danger and usually manages to save them if they are. So yeah, all Jack wants is a good bottle of rum and a fun trip out to sail in a boat that will most likely have him standing atop the mast because it will be sinking, leading him to a new place. What does that sound like?

After being sent to DJ's locker, I think Jack's priorities changed a little. I don't think life's about booze and sailing anymore for him. I think it took on more gravity as he suffered a lot in the locker and he sure wouldn't want to be there ever again. Which was why he decided to take up Will's burden to be captain of the FD. The EW reviewer didn't get it, I think.

of course after Davy's Locker Jacks priorities did change! I mean when he was trying to figure out the map and the 2 little Jacks appeared on his shoulder it was clear that Life itself was more important to Jack! I mean if he was contemplating giving up girls and rum for imortality (although he did mention it was gonna be hard) it still did appeal to him! Life w/o girls and rum was better than going back to the locker!

I also agree with LTT even though Jack may be considered an expert in the field of women, when he meet Lizzie he met a women who challenged everything he knew! a women with her own mind and a challenge to conquer. Jack was intriqued but I believe he slowly realized that he did care for Lizzie! So ya he isnt immune to heartbreak! He just deals with it a little better than say perhaps a Whelp we all know!

I don't think that all Jack cares about is booze and fun sailing.....he does care about the two kids.....so if all we saw was what met the eye...then we have to assume that Jack was quite content to be in a little dingy with his broken compass and a silly map to the FOY and a bottle of rum..in the middle of a huge body of water - the caribbean and then the gulf of mexico - if he is headed to Florida. He never had any real romantic feelings for Liz he was just flirting around...and he uses them as leverage...but only as so far as he can get away with it without them being in any real danger....Jack is a man with a plan..always.

Liz never had any romantic feelings for Jack..she was just using him...she check-mated him in the kiss of death....all she cared about was getting safely to land with Will....all others, be damned. Pirate!

So....Liz spends all of AWE just wanting to be with Will - why I'll never know - and Will spends all of AWE trying to choose between his father and the love of his life...and Jack...all jack cares about is immortality so he never has to experience death again.

That's AWE in a nutshell...guess I should have listened to Jerry B. when he described AWE this way prior to it's release on May 25...then i could have spared myself alot of heartbreak.....seems as though we were all victims of the Pirates......

Ah well....alast, it's only a movie...and Sweeney Todd is out today...

Just heard on the radio that due to the writers strike...there may be no live telecast of the People's Choice or the Golden Globes...cuz that would be crossing to picket line!

DAMN THE PICKET LINE!!!!! I will seriously be upset if the GGs don't get broadcasted...

I'm already upset cause my fav show is shut down! I mean, I'm all for action and strikes and protests, but eventually, it needs to get resolved. Hollywood, YOUR PUBLIC NEEDS YOU! lol. i think i am an entertainment junkie. oh well. product of my culture.

I'm getting so sick and tired of the WGA strikes! I want my shows back! I want my GGs and People's Choice and Oscars shows! That's the time of the year when we get to drool over our fave stars! I want to see Johnny and Keira on the red carpet! I'm so angry! Why can't those studio people and writers just resolve it once and for all? There're people out there who need to earn a living too, ya know!
