Well I found Atonement online and it was BRILLIANT!!! Oh my word... seriously, Keira was like a totally different person. i dont know how my boss would feel about me watching it at work, but that's another story.

what do you guys prefer-- Keira in Atonement or JD in Sweeney? I think I have to vote Atonement, because my theatre days are behind me. But Johnny's ability to wear make-up never ceases to amaze me.

How did you get Atonement? I've been fascinated by it and Keira supposedly gives an award-winning performance.

i would go see it in theatres, but it has yet to hit o-town. haha. it's such an intriguing film, so artistic. i haven't been so caught up in the nuances of camera-work since Casablanca. every detail is perfect. all of the actors give award-winning performances, really.

They are both amazing! and i have a soft spot for both Keira and Johnny but i just saw Sweeney Todd last night and I seriously find him more entertaining! I saw atonement also and Keira was amazing (and totally agree camera angles, the typewriter sound playing at the perfect moments, it's great)....but Sweeney Todd has really gotten under my skin and is right up there as a favorite of mine!! Johnny is just amazing in it!!

I want to see Keira and Johnny in the same movie again, not necessarily in POTC.

That would be really interesting, especially if she was his daughter in it or something like that.

i think that might be a little weird, considering their really intense onscreen chemistry even when they aren't playing lovers...

but then, they're both professionals. maybe they could find a way to morph that chemistry into a family relationship.

But as a viewer...to be honest i think i would find it a little weird watching them onscreen as father and daughter when i knew how good together they were in POTC .... I'd be sitting there thinking;

"Go on...just give her a kiss jack!!!" lol

Exactly. It would be so weird to watch that, like seeing Keira in her school uniform sitting on Daddy's lap.

HOWEVER:

i would LOVE to see them in another film together that wasnt an action/adventure but their characters were still slightly romantically linked...

i guess i would just like to see whether the chemistry is still there with new characters and a totally new setting...

Hee hee, you watch, there will be a remake of POTC years from now and old Johnny and Keira will be off in some corner in the Tortuga scene as an Easter Egg making out and it takes the hard core fans like us to spot it.

I just had the awesome realization that I like Johnny Depp as an actor--I love, I love, I love Jack Sparrow. Don't think I'll ever love another like this--he is the one. I'm sure that Sweeny Todd is excellent and Mr. Depp plays well with his new persona--it's just sorta like okay. I know I'll be impressed with him, but my heart's won.

I wanna see that too!

You think maybe it's because we are subconciously still trying to satisfy our needs to see a Jack/Liz ending even if their characters are different and its a totally different movie altogether, yet when we watch we'll imagine it's Jack and Elizabeth anyway? lol

i think that subconsciously that that could be part of it, yeah lol! 😄

But aswell as that, i just love both of the actors, and when POTC first came out, i was really happy because keira and johnny were my favourite actors at the time 😄
They still are to this day, and to be honest with you...if another film came along and they both went for a part in it, i think they would probaby get it because i think they just have great chemistry anyway 🙂

its like...keira and orlando were good friends, but they didnt have great chemistry....

from what has been said, i think keira and johnny were friends to some extent...but when you're not as involved with someone, the chemistry is usually better 🙂

Hmmm... I wonder if he calls Christina Ricci for her birthday? If he calls her than there is more of a chance of him calling Keira. But in a business with so many friends and associates, does he he have time to call everyone on their birthday?
