If by better you mean almost certainly one of the best, I agree.

tas clark, from what i saw, wasnt that bad...

TAS Clark didn't really let Lois step all over him, and Smallville's version of Clark is pretty cool in that he's not really a nerd.

smallville clark doesn't have the self confidence comic clark did as a young man, and that irks me quite a bit...

He's gaining more self confidence as it goes along, and I'd say he's matured quite a bit since the show first started. I like the direction the writers are taking him in, and I'm anxious to see how they'll finish the show.

even now, he's still so full of doubt and fear... i dont like it...

He's not really full of doubt. Anyone who has watched season eight has known that he's been ready to accept his destiny, and has been cleaning up a lot of crime around Metropolis as of late. Rumors have begun swirling of his existence, and Jimmy is trying to prove he exists. Trust me, he's very close to Superman status.

i've been watching season 8... 😬

He's already said he's ready to accept his destiny and save people...so I don't see how he still lacks confidence and what not.

smallville should burn in hell

he's only starting to do it now, which is what i don't like... 7 seasons of him pining over lana...

in the comics, lana pined over him, and he still fecked off to metropolis...

and i still say introducing lois was a pretty dumb idea...

for once, we agree...

I didn't mind the whole Lana thing, because Lana actually got into some good storylines, and I like that they're doing something different from the comics. I think that it was established long ago that "Smallville" was never intended to be exactly like in the comics. They wanted to add on to his journey to becoming Superman, and they've done a fantastic job with that thus far. Tom Welling is THE best Clark Kent/Superman of all time, as Erica Durance is the best Lois of all time. She's everything Lois is supposed to be. She's smoking hot, she's snarky, and she can kick ass. The Smallville writers have done an incredible job with introducing many characters from the Superman mythology. Superman doesn't have the worst rogue's gallery in comic book history, but he doesn't have the best rogue's gallery either. I do like mostly all of his villains, it's just that some of their backgrounds aren't as interesting as they could potentially be. It's cool that you have your opinion and all, but I'll be a Smallville fan until the day I die.

That's the most idiotic thing I've ever seen posted on KMC.

And there has been plenty of retarded things with which to compare.

I don't know, I don't think the character necessarily has to be darker, I think he is kind of dark in a sense, emotional dark, in Superman Returns, and the movie as a whole was slightly dark, they could have had more prowess in it I suppose, and I think that's one thing that can be done in the sequel, so I don't know how much darker you want to make it necessarily. You make the stakes higher, you make the villain darker, I think that's a way to do it. But I don't think Superman himself needs to be darker. He definitely has to struggle, how does Superman be a part of the world? And does he have to make sacrifices to be a part of that world? To fit in and what purpose does he really play in the world? Those are all kind of dark places to explore. But, I don't think Superman should ever be dark and brooding, that's not is nature. And that's now what people what to see. Like Brainiac or something like that, a situation when the villain is...

Such as that comment you just posted?

I find it odd how you posted in this thread just to insult me, and yet, it's all over my opinion. I'm entitled to have my opinion, as you are entitled to your's. The only idiotic statements are made by the ones whom are too immature to accept another's opinion.

Smallville is an excellent alternate portrayal of Superman's early years. I just wish they hadn't killed off Lionel Luthor - he was imo the best character on the show.

I really hope they can save the Superman franchise. I think Brainiac would be a great on-screen villain, personally. When the movie comes out, comparisons to The Dark Knight are unavoidable and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I hope they can get a talented actor to play the villain. Also, am I the only one who didn't like Brandon Routh? I hope they get someone else (/someone better).
