Superman: Man of Steel

Got to say I finally read Superman: Earth One and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Just watched Superman 2... They better keep the same theme. I always hated how they got rid of Danny Elfman's Batman theme for Nolan's Batman.

Music is better in Nolan's Batman series. More menacing, less fanciful.

And when you reboot a series, you are allowed to start over in every way.

Don't tell me you didn't miss this! Even a quick use of the triumphant verse when Batman apperead for the first time would have been awesome.

The score was OK for it's day. I think Danny Elfman actually got better as a scorer after this; more range to his style. Red Dragon(2002) was one of his best scores, I believe.

I honestly prefer what Elfman did on Batman to what came about when Nolan's ones came out. They're both good, but for me Elfman's score is iconic.

Not as iconic as John Williams' theme for Superman.

But when the reboot happens in two years, we will have to live with the fact it won't be there.

there are few modern musical pieces from movies more iconic than the superman theme, at least imo.

is there any reason why they can't use it?

Well, they did that once already...

- Superman Returns?

How well did that work out?

It was sampled in Returns, iirc.

Apparently Henry Cavill will play Superman.

He looks like the part. But will have to wait and see. Brandon routh was good too but he was the only good thing about superman returns. That and catching the plane.

Henry Cavill is the new Superman!

well sooooooooooooooooooooooooooory!

Sorry if this sounds like an ignorant comment - not kept up to date with the thread for the last couple weeks.

Is there a direction for the plot yet, I mean just heard about Henry Cavill get the part of Superman, which I think could be interesting. I'm not sure of his acting ability but he's definitely got a defined an chiseled look that would suit the role.
