I honestly don't know if we'll get the origin, tbh.

It seems redundant. Everyone knows the gist of the origin, at least.

the origins of superman is well-known.. no need for a refresher.. this movie should dispense with all of that and get to a whole new level of superman epicness the likes which no one has ever seen before..

If I recall correctly, the Siegel family won the rights to the origin in the lawsuit, though the effects of that suit might not go into effect until after the film is finished production. Though, it's almost redundant to tell the origin story since everyone and their mother knows it. Personally, I'd rather them just tell it. It fleshes out the movie as a whole.

They could always do what they did for Hulk in The Incredible Hulk movie.

getting , sick of them rinsing the origin.
most superman movie goers know it.

Personally not a fan of them using zod again.
SM has many other awesome villains other than zod/lex.

Diane Lane (who is still ****ing hot) has confirmed that the script covers Clark's infancy and onward.

The question is, will the film spend something like the 25-30 mins covering the origins like Superman (1978) did, or will they gloss over it in 5 mins like Norton did in The Incredible Hulk (2008).

i prefer the norton way.. unless there is absolutely no way to go forward in this story unless they go over what most of us know or they have severely altered it in one way or another..

Yeah, I'd be happy if they keep it under 10 mins, Jor-El talking about the planet's destruction, cut to baby Kal-El blasting off, cut to Krypton exploding, cut to him landing and the Kent's finding him, cut to a few scenes of him growing up and learning moral lessons, cut to him in Metropolis as an adult.

Apparently there will be a few scenes on Krypton (as they've said there could be a fight scene between Jor-El and Zod), but I doubt they'll really focus on the origin, rather, they're showing Zod's history with the El family.

that would be awesome then.. some historic background between the house of el and zod.. if i remember correctly, zod was saying saying something about him and jor-el commanding krypton's army together at some point in their lives.. haven't seen the original films in a while though.. i maybe inaccurate..

I remember them using something like that for Smallville when Zod finally showed up in the series.

I like it.

jor-el's suit looks so organic.. i like all of them.. the suits finally look alien.. not like spandex.. i like how the superman suit looks like a suit under jor-el's "organic robes" makes kal-el look more connected to his roots.. faora's suit reminds me of middle earth style suit of armor..

i just realized how much i said "suit" in that post..

If this movie doesn't go for at least three and a half hours, I'm gonna be peed!

I apologize if this question has been asked here before but does anyone know if they'll be doing the origin or not?

^well, there will definitely be scenes of Jor-El on Krypton so i'm thinking yes.
