I just hope he's not reigned in too much.
Michael Shannon gets a bit spoilery:
my thoughts so far:
i like the new costume, it's about bloody time they got rid of the underwear on the outside
i hear some people are complaining because Zack Snyder is directing, but Nolan is writing it and everyone seems to love his movies. Snyder is good at directing OTT action sequences which is what i want to see in a Superman movie
as for Henry Cavill, i haven't seen any of his work before but he does seem dedicated to the role, i just hope he can do a good American accent.

Snyder usually does great when he has source material though.
Source material, and an exact roadmap of where to go.
Dawn Of The Dead - a remake in a duplicated setting (with none of the social commentary of George Romero's original.)
300 - nearly a panel for panel adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel.
Watchmen - again, nearly a panel for panel adaptation (and unfortunately, couldn't find a way to make the film groundbreaking the same way the graphic novel was, back in 1986.)
Legend Of The Guardians - children's book adaptation.
Sucker Punch - working from an original story, he goes completely off the rails.
- If it's not a case where someone has written the beginning and ending for him, he has serious trouble.
