Saying you don't want to sound homophobic, then being bothered by a gay actor is contradictory. That's like saying I don't wanna sound racist, but I'm nervous around black people.
No it would be more like him saying "I don't want to sound racist but I wouldn't like it if Superman was portrayed by a Black actor."

Not really. Superman's been white since 1938. Suddenly making him black would be a radical, unneeded and uncalled for shift in character and medium. Besides, there's already 2 black Supermen in existence. Blue Marvel and Icon. Hell, 3 if you count Obama-Superman. That's why I could understand why people were upset when they chose Idris Elba as Heimdall, since Heimdall was white(nordic) in myth and white since his inception in comics.
But since his actor is white, it shouldn't matter if he's gay or not, as long as he accurately portrays what Superman is on screen. Now, if Superman was hyper-skipping and making frost flowers with his ice breath instead of the normal deal...then we'd have a problem.
And Black Nick Fury is awesome.
I don't know about "awesome" but i just think turning an already established character black with no explaination rather than creating one is really just laziness.
By "explaination" i mean "hey i was switched with an alternate reality version" or an "almost exact clone" or even "hey i got this skin condition"
Fury was made black originally for the Marvel Ultimate, which is a different universe and continuity with almost every character different in some way.
He is still the same Fury he's always been in the 616 comic-verse.(The original and main one) Although the black Fury has become incredibly and increasingly popular since he's based off of and played by Sam Jackson on the big screen. Which is why he's black in just about every marvel cartoon out.
And yes, Sam Fury is awesome. Read some of the stuff he's done in Ultimates; he's basically a super spy on steroids. And in the movies...well he's Sam f*ckin Jackson.
