Actually...that wasn't a bad rendition, even the campiness (eg, "My mother made this."😉. It appears to me, if Supes had been knocked in the other direction, Thor would've won.

I think this is going to be the best action we've seen of Superman on the big screen, and he'll show why he is called Superman.

Superman didn't hold back when he fought Doomsday in Death of Doomsday, and I think we'll see the same when he fights Zod, and his Kryptonian Army.

Dayum. If this movie is as good as its trailers...I may consider a sig change.* I love the Surfer: he suits the cosmic wanderer in me, the explorer of reality. But that's just it: he is an explorer first, defender second.
Superman is first and foremost a defender: he does not fly off to explore the wonders of existence, he stays, putting other's needs first.
*As much as I like the new supersuit...flying standing up, being like half-man/half-starship, is still the boss.

He's a virtuous champion.
In Look up in the Sky it was talked about that Superman is a fireman. He helps fix the situation, doesn't pass judgment, and waits to be called on again for help.

He sets the bar not only for Super Heroes in the DC Universe but for every Super Hero in all Comic Books.
