Batdude's Tourney Discussion Thread

Firelord is way weaker then either Surfer or Quasar, only Guardians he actually defeated were pretty weak (he didn't defeat Starhawk or anything), they would have defeated him if Crimson Bands hadn't backfired, and even when he all-out slapped Firelord, he was only thrown back, not knocked out.

Like shown before, Keeper obviously was able to do jack shit to him when he had fed. And when Keeper was stopping G from eating planets, he did not face him directly, he "acted in clandestine manner until Galactus was weak enough so he could actually defeat him". This was stated in the comic.

Keeper had to face the most weak Galactus in the history of continuity to defeat him. Thanos could face being more powerful then Galactus and actually survive his major attacks. Not to mention Galactus himself. He also defeated Kosmos, who is about equal to Beyonder...he faced guys like Tyrant or Odin.

Keeper is under Thanos.

Yeah. That was a fed Galactus.

By the way, Thor would have killed Galactus too if Galactus had not fled...and that Galactus was not weak as a kitten.

And Black Alice would have killed the Spectre if not for the fact that he became nothing without his power ... and he wasn't weak at all.

If it makes you feel better, I'm one of the judges, and I specifically mentioned waiting to see the debate. There is more to the tourney than the picks.

And hell, you might not even use that team; there is still the confirmation period, after all.

But the crap part is that not everyone is going to be the same way, and plenty of people probably just think Keeper could solo our team. I realize there's plenty of like-minded people to you, but it still irks me to hell.

A few key strategies we're planning to use weren't even mentioned....but that's why the people who do the drafting are supposed to do the debating. Hell, I'm not even as worried about that team as a couple others, but overcoming that kind of popular consensus is tough as sh*t. And if our strateiges (or theirs) had come out in that thread, it would be even more of a disadvantage for both teams.

And yeah, we're switching someone. It was supposed to be more of a secret, but at this point I don't care. But you can bet your ass that we're making the switch about 15 minutes before the switch period is over, because I'm sick of people showing up in 10 threads as soon as they're picked just so the rest of the tourney can figure out what the hell they're up against.

I just hate having all the work we put into this compromised....because that's exactly what this does. I can count 100+ PMs to Scoob (and probably at least another 100 from him) in the last few weeks (yeah, we're dorks). And to think that we might have to go into these fights with less than a full advantage because of things like this bugs me to no end.

....it's the principle as much as the actuality, because apparently the thread wasn't terribly detrimental to either team, but the fact that it easily could have been far outweighs that.

It's only a tourney, and I'm just here to have fun...and hopefully win too, if that's in the cards for us. But the amount of effort we spend on it, and the level we've built these tourneys up to, means that it's become much more than just the latest forum joke.
