Jack Sparrow is a pirate...it means he as a pirate will have to come to an end or he will die..hence the theory that he apparently looks for a way to become immortal in movie 3

Yeah I agree with both of you. Jack knows that the pirate is coming to end and he must let go of that life. I think he can do I have faith in him!

Jack wants to continue..but I think he has an unrealistic plan to do so he's going the wrong way about it, I dont think he knows what he really wants..hopefully he will find a more realistic and satisfying way to continue

I just think this whole deal with the compass not working properly..and they keep going on about his state of mind in DMC..IMO he knows time is running out for him and its not so much a fear or Davy Jones/Kraken..i think he just has a fear of dying/dying out. Why in a time like this is his compass going haywire? I don't think its entirely to do with Elizabeth, Elizabeth is just a part of it and he cant fit all the puzzle pieces together....yet..

They said he doesn't understand why he wants Elizabeth..I think its going to take a while for him to fully understand what his subconscious or what ever is trying to tell him to do

Perhaps he is afraid of dying out, and not leave a legacy? in DMC Jack started realizing what was it like, if he had certain things that human beings longed for through their life. He probably realized that because time was running out. He wanted to know what was like to have those kind of things.

I peronally HOPE that it will all become clear by movie 3..it will explain exactly why Jack was in such an odd emotional state in movie 2..and I dont think it was all because of Liz..

it was a mixture of wanting Liz, wanting to continue living/having a legacy and wanting human companionship. They were all clashing..but me thinks he may eventually realize how they all can be placed together and make perfect sense..

and he just didnt understand it at all thts why the compass was goin crazy IMO

Its like this was a slight wakeup call to him about something...but he just doesnt really understand what he wants..he wants something but he cant piece it together..

what he WANTS and always wanted may be answered right at the end of movie 3 😉

I agree, that makes perfect sense. I think Jack still wants to pursue piracy/living/freedom. but on the other hand he was worried about other things he was longing for, (Liz) which is having a companion.

its so interesting how T&T hardly ever talk about what Jack is really feeling in the commentary..or what it is e actually does want.

all he knows is he doesnt want die and now Elizabeth intruding in on his thoughts because he has this feeling and he doesnt understand why this is happening to him..

Ok, just gonna state it out. Me thinks Jack wants to be a daddy..he may not realize it just yet though..he thinks he wants immortality and to live on forever..but is this really just his biological clock ticking away? ..hence the fact the big ass clock..Is he actually feeling the need to carry on his name but he's mistaking it for wanting to save his own skin and live forever?..and that is why he's confused as to why he wants Liz?
