I personally think he's mistaking a yearning to carry on his bloodline with wanting immortality, to live on forever..thats why he doesnt understand why Liz is intruding into his thoughts at a time where his life is in danger IMO

But if you just think that Jack probably wants to ensure his bloodline before he dies..then it makes sense as to why Liz is popping into his mind when he feels his time is running out..

Wow I gotcha, he is confusing wanting immortality with carrying on his bloodline. He thinks that by being immortal he would live forever and his bloodline will never end.
Isn't funny, I relate all this with The DaVinci Code. Jesus Christ carrying on with his bloodline. Remember, Jack was viewed as a sort of god, the hallo around him when he shot the Kraken in DMC.

yeah but the real answer he's looking for is probably a son 😄..thats why he feels the need to be with Elizabeth in a time where his life is in danger IMO (although he doesnt understand why yet)..he may want her because she is someone he actually cares for/possibly and what he would want for a mother of his child..

Just be careful we aren't changing the motives of J/E completely. Are you saying the main reason of his desire for Liz is the fact that she's a suitable baby machine rather than a kindred spirit? Unless you're saying he's thinking far into the future with her that includes having children, I would still say his main reason of wanting to be with her is that she makes him happy and makes him bigger and better than he thinks he is.

I have to disagree with the idea that Jack deep down wants to be immortal. Jack has one of those thrill-seeker personalities. They need more rush and stimulation than more introverted people. Part of what they need is that adrenaline rush knowing they could die. If he suddenly became a creature where nothing could touch him, life wouldn't be as fun, because there is no challenge, no chance to die.

He could be looking at Liz as a woman he wants to settle with and knows to care for children. I dont think hes gonna look at liz as a baby machine for him to insert a sperm and pop out a baby like a pepsi cola machine.

I mean he's not looking at her as a prospective mother at the moment. He's not thinking, "Strong, brave, smart, sexy...she'd be a good mom." He's not looking at her positive qualities as items to be passed down to offspring right now.

That's not to say I don't think he wants kids. I think Jack is starved for love and probably relates to kids a little better than adults. I don't think he's awkward around them or anything, probably very natural and comfortable. He seems to have a child-like personality in spite of his intellect.

Definitely, Jack wants a child, and who better than Liz because he care , and has feelings for her, most probably love. Although in his unconscious he doesn't understand why, but like you said Lovely, hopefully everything will come together in AWE.
Who would have taught that Jack being Jack would want to be a daddy. That will be a shocker. I don't think anyone would expect this from this character. 🙂

It would be a surprise, but it makes sense. Am I the only one who can easily imagine him with a couple of kids? 🙄 Maybe I just find guys who are affectionate with kids kind of hot.

i cant really picture Jack as a dad...maybe in the future but not now..i dont know its just not how i see him..

No LOL we are not suggesting that. In DMC Jack seemed really worried because his life was supposedly coming to an end. In Our Opinions, Jack was worried because he was afraid of dying and not leave a legacy. When he got marked with the black spot, IMO he started realizing what was like if he had certain things. Things that human beings longed for through their life.

It's always the person who's in love that's the last to know in movies, it seems. It makes sense to everyone else. They are two peas in a pod and she's a challenge to him, and he likes that. She's harder to get and keep than some Orbitz girl.

I think the whole answer to DMC/AWE and Jack's confused state may be his biological clock ticking away and him realising that its not a means to be immortal/keeping his legend alive that he truly wants... IMO, he has a desire to keep his line going with someone who he cares for deeply, just needs to realize it..so yeah..a family and a reason to exist once piracy dies out..

ooo So its his biological clock ticking huh. So Liz was also part of his desire, and isnt really of sex or looking just any woman to bare a child. He wants a stogn spirited woman, and Elizabeth is the kind of woman who could be a protective mother.
