USH'S MATRIX GAME 2006 SECOND ASSIGNMENT- 'The Monastery'

Good thinking Lana, thought about that myself this morning.

Not enough room in there, no.

And Melis doesn't know where the door Mirage went through is or that it exists, and I doubt she'd have enough time to ask an operator where to go (assuming she could even get ahold of one?)...hmmm.

Really should have tried to go through there sneakily...

Well, to be fair, even if she hadn't attracted attention, Ares's actions would have meant this happened.

True, but had she not been noticed by every Agent in the room she at least would have possibly had a bit more time to figure out a (relatively) safe way out.

Only real option I can think of for her now is for Ares to fire on the Agent to slow it, and her to just tap LB to get past it.

The only safe way out is that-a-way (points towards door)

Practically speaking, she cannot now bypass that Agent. Any time at all taken to engage it will lead to her being gang-Agented.

...that sounds wrong.

What about the chance of Melis finding a spot to hide for about 15 seconds to call Finn (Mirage, you'll need to hang up, but you're pretty much in the clear now anyway) to find out where the other door out of here is?

Melis has become too visible for subterfuge tactics. Out of time.

Melis is going to have to turn around out of the library and go with Burn then, I'm guessing. And the two of you will have to lose the Agent that's with Burn. There's no time in which to engage it, though, so you'll have to trick it to get it away.

Hmmm. I think going with my idea of tricking the Agent into thinking you've gone over the balcony will probably work best, just need to actually turn it into a plan.

If we engaged the agent, would that give her enough of a gap?

Or perhaps if Ares stopped to do it...?

Okay, I think Burn and I have worked out a plan that will work. Or it should work.

Melis needs to turn around and leave the library, and Burn needs to take advantage of the fact that he's got a short time in which he can get away from the Agent.

So, the idea is for Burn to run like hell to the balcony, and he needs to be able to get there ahead of the Agent. Once there, he's going to toss a grenade and his coat over the balcony, and then hide before the Agent gets in there. With luck the explosion of the grenade will attract the Agent's attention, and seeing Burn's coat will help foster the idea that he went over the balcony, and hopefully the Agent will go down the balcony, thus giving Burn clearance to get to the clock tower.

Meanwhile, it's going to take a bit of time for Melis to get back out of the library and through the study, so she should head through the corridor that leads from the north end of the N/S corridor to the clock tower; if needed, her makeshift staff can be used to block a door.

So...yeah. That's what we've got.

Scratch part of that, Melis won't be able to go out any other way but the library.

Ares, you kinda screwed up here by not firing on the Agent while leaving, which would have given her an opening...

Whoawhoawhoawhoa.

First rule- listen to your operator. Melis was sent that way. She is being hotly pursued. Turning back is death.

Burn WILL be seen out there. All the Agents outside have returned.

Yeah, I posted just before you did...

Ares, you NEED to fire on that Agent. It's the only way that Melis will be able to get past it and out of the Library.

And...that's a bit of a problem, I think. Hmmm.

I guess if I have to, I can. I would rather Melis live than get away with my own life and be responsible for her death. Ares, no matter how care-free and bonkers he is, is not that mean...

Ares will turn and open fire on the Agent...

...unless Ush has another 'Whoawhoawhoa' moment. ermm

Ush the plan is not to GO out the balcony,
but to toss my stuff off the side so the other agent THINKS I went down there...
so he goes down and I can go across into the clock tower.

I don't think Agents are that stupid...

Well, if anyone else has any ideas they're free to help.

Ack, we need to lose that bastard somehow. I wish they were easier to dupe...

All I can think of is Burn leading the Agent around in circles and dropping a grenade behind him to temporarily have the Agent blown away until it gets up again...

And I have another random idea that decided to hit me as I was about to fall asleep and kept pestering me.

Would be tricky, but feasible I hope.

Mors, may want to pull that rope back up though, just in case...

Anyway. Burn runs to the balcony room and hides there; with any luck the Agent will think he went straight through and will head to the clock room. At that point Burn will need to quickly duck back into the N/S corridor and throw a grenade towards the northern end of it. Then hopefully the Agent will run back out through the corridor that connects the N/S corridor to the clock room, which will give Burn time to get to the Clock Tower.
