USH'S MATRIX GAME 2006 SECOND ASSIGNMENT- 'The Monastery'

Godzilla: Reloaded.

Melis watches out the helicopter, not all that comfortably in the crowded space.

In any case, Ariadne thinks you are still short of your destination, so you are flying right past this thing.

Berserker turns around to see the giant wall thingy. In all his life he has seen machines that will tear you to pieces, agents that can hop from one body to the next and even giant monster things that won't die but he never thought he would see something like this.

This thing it must have a purpose or why else would it be here in the middle of nowhere? Best of all why would something so big be allowed to exist in the Matrix that obviously isn't normal and would raise questions?

"Hmmm."

Ariadne phones back in after you pass it.

"You know," she says, "it IS mountain. That wall hasn't been built. It's been re-shaped out of the mountains around it."

"When is a mountain not a mountain..." Cloud asks rhetorically.

"Curious indeed," Melis says. "Would you say the shape has been changed by altering the coding or did someone actually do it the mundane way?"

"If they did it the mundane way they must have hacked themselves to be able to do it. Either way, someone is messing around severely with the Matrix code there."

"Fun stuff."

"I'm willing to bet that the System didn't make it," Mors says, "but that they don't want to mess with it. They seem to leave the Exiles alone, after all."

"Ah, it's just a wall out in the middle of nowhere," says Dallas. "We go around blowing their shit up. I know which one I'd worry about more."

Soon it is gone. And it is not long afterwards that something else is up ahead.

There are small fields and pastures on the mountains, but they are sparse and ill-kempt. But ahead of you now are the signs of civilisation- green fields.

"Well, good to know that agriculture is alive and well!" Ares says, sarcastically.

(*snicker* I made this post at 11:38...get it?)

More now. More fields, and tiny figures working them. Beyond that, gravel paths... and buildings.

What kind of buildings? Like the City?

No... far more primitive. Made of wood. But veru much done in an ancient Asian style- very Japanese, in fact.

"What's down there?" Melis will ask, hopefully getting an answer from the Operators and not Dallas...

Well, Ariadne says that, as best as she can tell, that's your target.

"Hey, Ya know what? I'll bet they're monks..."

"Prolly. Permission to take us lower, Captain?"

"Hmm, a civilisation that has the power to reshape mountains, yet still submits to Menial Labor?" Barb muses, eyeing the Fields and Workers below.

"Well, at least no AA Batteries have opened up on us... Yet." Barb jokes, laughing at the nervous looks he receives.

"Should I take us down, Sir?"
